Philosophy has always been more than an ivory tower discipline. Renowned philosophers from Plato to Nietzsche and many others produced fiction with thought-provoking philosophical content. Many of philosophy’s story-tellers preferred long walks rather than the confines of the ivory tower. I’m a workaday philosopher of no renown who has enjoyed both for a long time, deep thoughts in the Tower, long walks to process them.

في الكتاب محاولةٌ لتغيير النظرة إلى الحمار ونشاطه الذهني، فقد قُلبت الموازين، وصار الحمار كائنًا ناطقًا، يشغله همٌّ واحد ألا وهو الوصول إلى درجة الإحترام في نظر الإنسان، ونفي صفة الغباء والكسل عنه.

تقوم فكرة الكتاب على إفتراض أن الحمار يستطيع النطق، فماذا سوف يقدّم كي ينال تقدير الإنسان، بل إنه يتعدّاه إلى امتلاكه الناحية الفلسفيّة في طرح أفكاره، حيث يقدم حلولًا واقتراحاتٍ لمشاكل البشر وقضاياهم، وإيجاد السّبل المنطقيّة في التصرّفات والسلوكيّات التي يقدمها.
