"On Youth and Old Age" is one of the short treatises that make up Aristotle's Parva Naturalia. He compares the temperament of youth with that of old age, and considers middle age the best of all conditions.

Sense and Sensibilia is a work of the Greek philosopher and scientist Aristotle, included in the collection Parva Naturalia. The Parva Naturalia (a conventional Latin title first used by Giles of Rome: "short treatises on nature") are a collection of seven works by Aristotle, which discuss natural phenomena involving the body and the soul. They form parts of Aristotle's biology.

In the third century BC, Stoicism arose in response to and under the influence of these older schools, combining many of the best theories from each into a more cohesive whole. With a greater flexibility and more practical application to everyday life, Stoicism quickly became a very popular school of thought, a growth made exponential by its introduction to the Romans.

In Plato's Ion Socrates discusses with the titular character, a professional rhapsode who also lectures on Homer, the question of whether the rhapsode, a performer of poetry, gives his performance on account of his skill and knowledge or by virtue of divine possession. It is one of the shortest of Plato's dialogues.

Crito is a dialogue that was written by the ancient Greek philosopher Plato. It depicts a conversation between Socrates and his wealthy friend Crito of Alopece regarding justice, injustice, and the appropriate response to injustice after Socrates's imprisonment, which is chronicled in the Apology. In Crito, Socrates believes injustice may not be answered with injustice, personifies the Laws of Athens to prove this, and refuses Crito's offer to finance his escape from prison. The dialogue contains an ancient statement of the social contract theory of government.

Platon war Sokrates' Schüler, und als solcher wohl sein größter Fan. Platon seinerseits war der Lehrer von Aristoteles und wohl einer der größten Geisteswissenschaftler aller Zeiten. In dieser Hörbuch-Box sind versammelt: 1. Die Apologie des Sokrates: Die Verteidigungsrede des Sokrates gegen seine Ankläger, die ihm unterstellten, er habe die Jugend verführt (Track 1 - 19, Spieldauer 90 Min.). 2. Phaidon: In Dialogform erörtern der zum Tode verurteilte Sokrates und seine Schüler die menschliche Seele (Track 20 - 80, Spieldauer 200 Min.). 3. Symposion - Das Gastmahl: Während eines Gelages huldigen die Anwesenden reihum dem Gott Eros.

In der Platon-Forschung hat der Menexenos immer wieder für Rätselraten gesorgt. Die Ungereimtheiten dieses Dialogs ließen die einen vermuten, es handele sich gar nicht um einen Dialog Platons, andere wiederum sahen gerade in dem bis zum Äußersten getriebenen Vexierspiel, der diesem Dialog eigen ist, Platons stilistische Meisterschaft. Heute stellt niemand mehr die Frage, ob der Dialog Platon zugerechnet werden kann. Im Werk des Philosophen rechnet man ihn zu den Frühdialogen. Anders als viele andere platonische Dialoge ist der Menexenos nicht philosophischen Inhalts.
