Following the events in Homer's The Iliad, and his involvement fighting for Troy in the Trojan War, Aeneas leaves a war-torn Troy and heads to Italy, where he is destined to found Rome. His story continues in Virgil's The Aeneid. This is a shortened version of The Aeneid, so you can get the gist of the story without having to read the entire epic poem. Each chapter is summarized for quick reading.
