The Shamanic Journey: A Beginner's Guide to Journeying is written for the beginner or those relatively new to the shamanic journey practice. Shamanism is the oldest type of spiritual practice on the planet. It has been practiced for centuries by indigenous cultures all over the world. Anthropologists have studied the practice for years. The core value of shamanism is that all things are alive and embody the spirit. This practice is a path of direct revelation and grants all individuals access to healing and guidance from the spirit world. It's a way of carrying knowledge that we are not separate from each other but are all connected.

The stories in this collection were first published in Analog, a science fiction magazine, between 1990 and 2011. They feature the adventures of eccentric kilt-wearing anthropologist, archaeologist, and xenologist Rhys Llewellyn and his able assistants, Yoshi Umeki and Roderick Halfax. Given my fascination with archaeology, first contact…and all things Scottish, I suppose these stories were inevitable.
