"Der Idiot" gehört zu den bekanntesten Romanen Fjodor Dostojewskis. Кроме того, автор описывает не конкретного героя, а некий тип людей — собирательный образ. Повесть написана так необычно, что читатели не сразу поняли ее и отождествляли идеологию «подпольного» человека (замкнутого, озлобленного, порвавшего связь с внешним миром) с мировоззрением писателя.

Der Autor erzählt die Leidensgeschichte des Studenten Rodion Raskolnikow, der zum Mörder wird und letztlich daran zerbricht. Die Suche nach Moral und Gerechtigkeit und der Umgang mit Schuld vor dem Hintergrund gesellschaftlicher Veränderungen sind die Themen, die von Dostojewski hier verarbeitet werden. Nicht zuletzt wird dabei ein klares Bild der sozialen Verhältnisse im St. Petersburg des 19. Jahrhunderts gezeichnet.

"Le manteau" appartient au recueil des "Nouvelles de Pétersbourg", publié en 1843. Ce court texte raconte l'existence simple, limitée, mais heureuse d'un petit fonctionnaire russe, Akaki Akakiévitch Bachmatchkine. It's a touching tale of a young man who finds himself without shelter or food on a cold Autumn Night in Moscow. The strong opening lines of the narrator set the stage nicely: "Once in the autumn I happened to be in a very unpleasant and inconvenient position.
