Publisher's summary

First Samuel tells the stories of a prophet, a politician, and a poet - Samuel, Saul, and David - and how God used them to unite the nation of Israel. These three leaders each had their flaws; however, God gave them one of the most wonderful gifts anyone could receive - the gift of influence.

In this verse-by-verse study through 1 Samuel, Skip Heitzig details God's response to a nation in desperate need of direction and shows that the extent to which we are influenced by God will determine how we influence others for his glory.

Learned so much

Entertaining and informative deep dive into this under-appreciated, fascinating Old Testament book. I’m better for it.
