Acerca de esta escucha

When life deals him an unexpected blow, freelance music journalist Noah Van Owen decides to leave his New York home for the backwoods and bayous of Louisiana in search of a man named Lafayette Valentin.

He knows nothing about the stranger who inadvertently set in motion the events that turned his life upside-down...nothing but the man's name, an address, and the fact that he is a music prodigy, a gifted artist capable of playing any instrument like he was casting a spell.

What Noah doesn't know is that Lafayette Valentin—known in his remote hometown in the deep south as "Lovesong"—is blind, trapped and heartbroken...and determined to make a deal with the Devil himself.

As two men stand at a crossroads in their lives, will their destinies intersect? Will one of them sell his soul while the other loses his to grief and despair? Or will Noah learn to dance once again...in the arms of a boy called Lovesong?

Amazing and heartfelt story that keeps you reading. I loved how the story drew out all my emotions. I laughed, cried (few times) and even swoon hard for the love of Noah and Lovesong. I truly wished for more at the end.

Lance West was amazing and his ability to tell the story with heart allowed for more feels than I had thought. Truly an amazing performance!

Amazing

The story and plot line itself is interesting and original, and I like how the author tied in some Louisiana lore. There were also some hilarious parts that had me laughing out loud. However, some parts were a bit unbelievable and over the top (I know it’s a book but it just didn’t flow). There were also spots where way too many metaphors were being given as an explanation, so much so I could skip ahead and not miss anything. Also, some of the characters are over the top mean, and the MC just takes it and doesn’t speak up which is a pet peeve of mine. If you’re going to make a character super mean at least let the MC stand up for themselves.
Overall good, and I’ll probably read more from this author. I do however think the book prior to this one about rainbow was much better. Narration was 10/10

Could have been great
