About this listen

The powerful, dramatic story of how a successful Hollywood set designer whose identity was deeply rooted in his homosexuality came to be suddenly and utterly transformed by the power of the Gospel.

When Becket Cook moved from Dallas to Los Angeles after college, he discovered a socially progressive, liberal town that embraced not only his creative side but also his homosexuality. He devoted his time to growing his career as a successful set designer and to finding "the one" man who would fill his heart. His life centered around celebrity-filled Hollywood parties, and he traveled to society hot spots around the world - until a chance encounter with a pastor at an LA coffee shop one morning changed everything.

In A Change of Affection, Becket Cook shares his testimony as someone who was transformed by the power of the Gospel. His dramatic conversion to Christianity and subsequent seminary training inform his views on homosexuality - personally, biblically, theologically, and culturally - and his compelling audiobook guides listeners through this complex and controversial issue while revealing how to lovingly engage with those who disagree. Provocative, genuine, and deeply faithful, A Change of Affection is a timely and indispensable resource for anyone who desires to understand more fully one of the most common and difficult stumbling blocks to faithfully following Christ today.

Stunning and compelling, beautiful and loving story!

Wonderful and addictive content! I was moved, challenged, changed, and inspired by Becker’s story and his performance.

Identity

I enjoyed the lesson in this book. It was all about the myth of "identity" and a tele of redemption. Fantastic!

Beautiful, Amazing, and Worth every minute!

I found this book at the best time! It is a beautiful guide in loving our families, and being the support system they need, because they are our loved ones no matter what the struggle. Who better to love them and lift them in prayer to Jesus than us?♡
Becket Cook is courageously vulnerable in sharing his life with the world.

Honestly Real

I loved listening to Beckett's story. He is honestly real about this issue. Coming from a sheltered community, I have always wanted more insight on addressing gays and lesbians if and when I would encounter this in my family/friend circle. Beckett has given me insight on just simply loving them and praying for them. Just as I do for those in my life that don't know Jesus. Thank you Beckett!

Highly recommend

I found the first 2 chapters difficult to swallow for some reason. Nonetheless, I pushed through, and I’m so glad I did. The remainder of the book was so on point, personally, socially, and most importantly, biblically. Even taking into account my initial reaction, I have to give this book 5 stars across the board. I just wish I had Becket Cook on speed dial!
