Publisher's summary

After years of conscripted service to a corrupt king, Evelyn Rosewood seizes a chance to earn her freedom. With little more than an enchanted satchel and her feathered familiar, she sets out on a quest to dispel a mysterious blight that has shrouded a once-thriving harborside town in despair.

However, upon her arrival in the bustling port city, rumors of a dark curse mingle with the salty breeze, and the town’s initial warmth gives way to suspicion.

Aided by a handsome, albeit grumpy, herb merchant, Evelyn aims to heal more than just the vast farmlands. But with time, it appears she is not the only one keeping secrets. Can her magic mend the town’s fractured past and open guarded hearts, including her own?

A Drop of Fortune is the first novel in a series of standalone cozy fantasy romances. Perfect for fans of Legends & Lattes, Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries, and The Spellshop.

Danielle does it again

I was happy to hear openly gay characters. All of Danielle's work is so much fun and Amanda Ronconi makes it even better.

Another great book

I love anything this author writes and definitely this narrator. Her other books are better but this was still good! Just a bit slower

A fun new series from Danielle Garrett

Loved all the characters especially Archie. A good mixture of romance and a great storyline.

She’s done it again!

Couldn’t wait for Danielle Garrett’s most recent book and it did not disappoint! Once again she manages to transform the reader so they actually feel they are there watching the story evolve. Can’t wait for the next one!

Magical diversion-kind of bland.

I am a fan of Danielle Garrett and always look forward to hearing her magical leanings and funny characters. This one was a bit tedious, didn’t keep my attention like some others, and often found myself spacing out only to be lost when something in the story got my attention. Alas, I stuck with it and saw the story thru. A good book to play when you don’t care TOO much about story details.

Wonderful start of a new series!

Danielle Garrett's new "Four Corners Coven series" draws you in to a magical world. As always, Garrett's writing is smooth, witty and reads as if you're watching a movie through her words. One of my favorite authors and Amanda Ronconi is perfect as the narrator. Keep writing Danielle!!

Delightfully entertaining!

I am a huge fan of both this author and narrator so when I saw they had a new series, I couldn’t have been more excited to jump into it! I really enjoyed the set up of this new and magical world and I am very interested to see how the series progresses and what new characters we will follow along the way. And on a personal note, if I can’t have a feline familiar, then I would like an owl;)🦉

A sweet and kind story

Based on this novel I am very much looking forward to the rest of this series. The main character is a kind person with a sweet disposition who has had some tough situations. It felt like not just a story of her falling for a person but really falling for a whole city. Archie the owl familiar is a delight. Not particularly spicy absolutely cozy. Unique side characters who are well developed. If Legends and Lattes, or The Spellshop are your sort of thing you’ll love this too. I highly recommend this book.

Cozy vibes with a pinch of mystery!!

This book was like a warm cup of tea in your favorite chair with an overlook of the sea. Evelyn is a witch, she and her (sassy) familiar owl Archie are sent to solve the mystery of a blight plaguing a sea side town. It’s sweet, funny and even has a handsome merchant. I was hooked from the start and had to pause a few times to get the giggles out. Amanda Ronconi is amazing as usual! Must listen for this fall season!

Such a great story with wonderful characters

Danielle Garrett has been one of my favorite authors for years, so I was excited to read this new book, which is a different style than her usual ones. I have to say - it was SO GOOD. I loved the story, the setting, all of the new characters. I cannot wait for the other books in the series.
