I liked it.

Any additional comments?

I don’t usually listen to poetry but wanted something light to listen to while walking. These short poems worked.

The narration by Don Wright was well delivered, clear and expressive.

I received this audio-book free for an honest review by the author, narrator, or publisher. Thank you!!!

A Good Place to Wake Up

After having listened to three of William Graham's works, I can tell you he is becoming a favorite of mine. His works are not to heavy or long, but they pack a lot of information. A Good Place to Wake Up is another great title by Graham. He is writing about something he knows personally since he lives in the state, and coupled again with Don Wright as the narrator you can't go wrong. Wright's unique clear voice gives you the rustic mountain feel as you discover Vermont through poetry. If you enjoy poetry, Graham's words or Wright's voice then this is another title you can't go wrong with.

A wonderful way to spend an hour!

Any additional comments?

For me, a collection of poetry works if it is apparent that the poet speaks his/her truth in the poems and, then, if that truth speaks to me. William Graham's poetry speaks to me in beautiful words, phrases, sentences, and thoughts with imagery of the forest and the stars.
The narrator brings it all together for an outstanding listening experience!

An hour of calm folksy New England poetry

Any additional comments?

A Good Place to Wake Up is full of folksy meditative simplicity. This collection is a great many short poems which brim with the author's passion about his home state of Vermont and, often, the stars above it.

The lush contemplative descriptions are pastoral and sentimental. Most of the poems are impersonal in that they deal more with the place and his experience within it rather than with people. There are exceptions though which tell of childhood memory, salt of the earth neighbors, and death -- which is addressed in an earthy way.

New England flavor shines througj

This was an enjoyable collection of poetry about Vermont. In the spirit of Thorough, you get acquainted with the spirit of the New England transcendentalist. And like Thorough, you get the feeling like the poet knows he is transcending all of the boring and petty cares that the rest of us are consumed with. I try not to take it too personally, not sure how well I succeed. I am in the middle of Walden right now, so that might be coloring how I received this book.

It was an enjoyable listen with superb narration, if you are in the market for fresh New England poetry, Graham obliges. If you like this and you like baseball, he has a book of poetry about baseball too.

Poetic Bliss..

Let your mind drift as William Graham takes you to beautifuly descriptive places.
This collection of stories and inner thoughts
written in Hemingway fashion makes you feel as though you are experiencing the author's vision.
The narrator Don Wright did a great job bringing William's imagination to life.
After several try's to get this book I was finally able to get a copy as a gift from William Graham in exchange for my honest review.
Poetry lovers will definitely appreciate this well written listen.

Beautiful Vermont Poetry

William Graham writes beautifully in A Good Place to Wake Up. He captures every essence of Vermont, especially Christmas. I'm quickly becoming a fan of Graham's poetry. Vermont has many incredible vistas with its charm and he delights us with being able to visualize it.

Don Wright's performance was wonderful. Told by a true storyteller, he portrayed the emotion and spirit perfectly.

Listening to these reminded me of home . . .

oh, wait, Vermont is my home. :) Even if you do not live here, "A Good Place to Wake Up: Vermont Poems" will move you with the heartfelt depth of which they are written. One immediately visualizes and feels the emotional attachment that William Graham's verse, and Don Wright's voice, brings to this work. Simple words come as close to expressing the beauty of Vermont without actually witnessing it; the quintessential Vermont--in a nutshell.

I highly recommend this short set of poems as it is well worth the time and price of investment. This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review and it is my hope that you find this helpful in your decision as to listen to this audible book.
