This book had a very interesting premise. Major Robert Dalton is assigned to take a new time travelling plane and fly it back to 1942 to kill Hitler, thus preventing the holocaust and WWII. However, something goes wrong and Dalton winds up in the late 1890's and the plane is too damaged to fly again, so he must destroy it and he is stuck in the past.

The first half of the book was rather boring and slow. It wasn't until Dalton became trapped in the past that the story, now his story of how he adapts to his situation and makes a new life for himself, was the good part. Oddly enough, Dalton suspected this would happen due to a clue found in a home where a man named Dalton had lived and died. Turns out the Dalton's were one and the same.

There was no character development in the first half, the military guys were all just cardboard cutouts and the narrator was slow and boring. He got better, along with the story, in the second half, although he was still slow.

I have not read or listened to the first book in this series, and don't know if I will go back or look for any more by Graham.

It's not terrible, but it's not great, either. I think it really could have been maybe if Dalton had actually arrived in 1942 Germany and tried to carry out that mission. Instead, the story bypasses the mission to trap Dalton even earlier in time.
A real shame the author did not follow through on the story.

Not gonna lie, this was Meh!

I absolutely loved the first book in the series and couldn't wait to listen to the second. This one is a good story, too, a great continuation of the first story; however, I enjoyed the first one a tad more. The narration is okay, not great, a bit stilted...as it was with the first book. I received a review copy at my request and voluntarily reviewed.

The narrator was very monotonous. Changing the playback to 1.25 made all the difference.The story itself was very entertaining and more than made up for the narration. I haven’t heard Book 1, but this story was fine without it.

Clark Graham has an interesting idea for time travel. This volume goes into much more detail about the plane and problems of making it work. More than half the story was before the plane took off. Of course the idea behind this second volume made that an important side of the story. Overall I think this was a good story and a good continuation of the series.

The one major problem with this series is the narrator. I think the story could have been much better if it had been read by someone else. Very monotone and almost no emotion. At times I felt he was on a time limit and in a hurry to get done.

The first one was noticeably better

Buried in some archives they find the plans to a time machine and proof it worked. What do you do?... build it and see if you can make it work again, and attempt to alter history. What can go wrong, right? Major Dalton had no intents on being the pilot but, as the first mission plan is laid out, it is determined he’s the best man for the job. Reluctantly, he joins his copilot and they go back in time with the intent of stopping Hitler. Dalton has already seen proof and figured out that this won’t work, yet, he continues on with the plan.

I enjoyed this book and the theories about time travel. The characters were likeable. The story covers both present day and the events that occur in the past. Once Dalton confirmed his mission was a bust, he did not take long inserting himself into the new time. Personally, I think he was incautious. The book has a finality to it, but also could be expanded upon. I wonder if there is a book 3?

The narrator did a pretty good job reading this book, however, the narrating speed is slow. Listening at 1.25x speed makes it a more comfortable listen. His voices are pleasant to listen to and the female voices are not squeaky, or high pitched, however, many of the voices are similar. Despite this, I did not find this made listening to the book difficult. His intake of breath while narrating is quite noticeable which made it even more obvious that I was listening to a book being read to me.

There are no explicit scenes sex or excessive violence or swearing.

A chance to change history- what could go wrong?

The voice kept putting me to sleep, but I jump back a bit to hear it again! It’s different than other time travel stories I’ve heard, and I loved it! I love quirky ends too!!!

A time travel book to fall in love with!

the book is very very good the story is very intriguing and notice that the book wasn't that long though it wasn't a long book it provided with all the information with all the feelings of the character his fears and his strength the story was captivating and I loved it so very much the time travel was very well described and all the Adventure was breathtaking

Love this type of stories line

Nobody know the repercussions of possible time travel.. if you make a change in a historic persons life, how much change would occur.

With A Hole In Time, this is given.. A pair are sent back in time to do away with Hitler as a young child. They had an opportunity to see what actually happens with something changes.

I found the beginning of this book very slow and I put it down for a bit. But I started again, and so glad I did.. I love time travel books and this one did not disappoint as I got into it. The narrater was a little off, he sounded like he was reading the book, but I did get use to it.

I'd like to listen to the rest of this series..

I love time travel stories

I had so much fun with Book 1 that I jumped right into Book 2. Again the question of the butterfly effect (not so named within the story) becomes an issue, with a different approach from the first book--but using the same time travel technology and light touch with story and characters. Author Clark Graham enjoys sharing the changes in technology and language over the years with a keen eye for anachronism as he provides a new spin on alternative history while narrator [AUDIO] William Mark Woelfle has fun vocalizing the characters. As a bonus, although the first story is also a delight, you will have no trouble following the action if you haven't read it.
