Publisher's summary

Pride and Prejudice goes to Scotland!

When Fitzwilliam Darcy, still smarting from Elizabeth’s rejection, discovers she was forced to flee her home in disgrace owing to his actions, his course is clear. He must marry her. It is a matter of honor. All he has to do is find her and propose. Surely that will be simple enough.

But Elizabeth does not want to be found, especially not by Darcy. From the moment he entered her life, he has caused disaster after disaster. Now he has followed her all the way to Scotland, foolishly certain it is within his power to fix all her problems. But far more is at stake than Darcy knows, and Elizabeth is out of options.

Darcy’s quest for Elizabeth takes him from backstage at Edinburgh’s Theatre Royal to the wilds of the Scottish Highlands, where Highlanders prove both friend and enemy. And now his search risks exposing long-hidden secrets that threaten his happiness and her future.

On the run and in danger, Elizabeth is forced to make impossible choices to protect those whom she loves - including Darcy. Her growing attraction to him is at war with her need for caution, and the stakes are impossibly high. Can she trust him to continue to fight for her protection when he knows the whole truth? And if he does, will it be for love...or will it be merely a matter of honor?

Join best-selling author Abigail Reynolds as she transports the listener to the Scottish lochs and mountains in this sweeping Regency drama based on Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice!

The book it self.

I liked it because it kept my interest all the way through, and this is not the first time time I’ve heard it, it’s in my library for that reason.

👏👏👏👏👏

Bravo for Ms Abigail Reynolds! This is another quite masterful storyline that she has written. Darcy's tenacity in trying to win Elizabeth Bennet is amazing. I am glad it pays off so ODC can have their HEA.

Wonderful

I have always loved the Scottish highlands and this book reminded me of my visit. The story was one of my favorites from Ms. Reynolds. I also always enjoy Ms. Klett.

Almost Two Books in One

The majority of the story takes place in Scotland, but the first half is a pursuit of Lizzie by Darcy, even after he finds her in Edinburg. She runs again and an entire new group of characters and storylines opens in the Highlands.

There are villains, and intrigue with a history of the conflict between England and Scotland added underneath.

Often, with this much going on in a story it gets complicated and difficult to follow. That is not the case here. It is well written so that all of the various characters blend together smoothly.

Elizabeth Klett does a great job of narrating and providing each character with their own, believable voice.

rating while on chapter 4

the plot is unbelievably stupid.

SPOILER ALERT

Elizabeth is sent away to live with her father's sister...story there as well, stupid....his own 2 younger girls are an embarrassment but his sister an actress is worse that he has told all she is dead.
The reason Elizabeth is sent away is because a maid saw Mr Darcy arrive to speak to Elizabeth (the botched proposal) but didn't see him leave the parsonage. The a maid also saw the same Darcy and Elizabeth in the wood receiving a letter now she is ruin along with the whole of her family.
When Darcy got Bingley to go back for Jane he is made aware and the whole town of Meriton will not acknowledge either one and Bingley kicks Darcy out of his home.
Darcy finds out from Charlotte the connection in Scotland and finds Elizabeth but Elizabeth will not speak to him.
All because of her opinion of him. How obserd.
I WANT MY CREDIT BACK!!!!
Don't waste your money on this.
I can't even finish this and I'm listening on 1.70 speed.
