About this listen
The perfect recipe for a little mayhem…
A dash of accidental magic,
A pinch of town upheaval,
And a large helping of a dangerously handsome stranger.
In the heart of Ellamere, where magic is banished, Abrielle Grainwick works tirelessly to keep her late grandmother’s bakery running smoothly. But when a souffle recipe goes awry, Abrielle must add something she never expected to her long list of things to do: Unsummon the otherworldly man standing in her kitchen.
Thanks to her mistake…
Magic is seeping back into Ellamere.
She’s playing host to a devastatingly gorgeous stranger and his shadow companions.
And she still has no idea what she’s going to enter into the Star Crossed festival’s baking contest.
As one mishap after another strikes their village, Abrielle realizes her new guest may not be as harmless as she hoped. If she wants to return things to normal before someone gets hurt, she must find a way to send him back to where he came from.
With giant toads falling from the sky and a mangy hound at her heels, she sets off on a journey of delectable pastries, self-discovery, heartwarming friendships, and romance. All of which will leave her questioning whether there is a hint of love and magic to be found in the mundane after all.
A Recipe for Magic and Mayhem is book one of the cozy romantasy series, Ellamere Enchanted. It is a low-stakes, sugary sweet, low heat forced proximity fantasy romance set in the small fairytale village of Ellamere. Each book can be listened as a standalone, but is best enjoyed in order of release.

Compiled by intrepid journalist Neve Pride, this archive of recordings spans the months after dragons emerged on earth, chronicling the communities that sprang up amid the destruction, the scientists, military leaders, and experts searching for a defense, and those steadfastly seeking the missing. Neve and her young daughter Bex travel among the wreckage speaking to those left behind and surviving, against all odds. Neve records everything for history, and in the hopes of locating a clue as to where the dragons came from and how one might stop them.

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Story
Are you still considered an orphan if you’re twenty-five years old? Because I am in every sense of the word. I have no one left. No one to love me. No one to care about me. No one to be proud of me. Pulling myself out of a year-long pity party is exhausting, but I slowly start to put the broken pieces of my heart back together and move on. That is until three stupidly attractive men walk into my bar and fast-track everything. When I’m presented with the opportunity to spend the night with them, I decided to take life by the balls and jump head first. Cause why not…right?

Story
Nick has no direction in his life, as his mother often reminds him. He works paycheck to paycheck, which becomes a problem when the paychecks stop coming in. When he's offered an opportunity to work off his rent, Nick decides there are worse things in life than being a super, especially when the job includes free rent. There is, however, a catch. His landlord is a vampire, and he needs more from Nick than maintenance and renter-wrangling. He needs Nick's blood.

Cozy little break
This book was so cute and cozy. This was a great palette cleanser from the dark romances I typically read❤️❤️

Cute Cozy Fantasy!
I loved this book it was such a cute easy listen. The characters are sweet and you end up adoring them all even the side characters! I love that Damos is a shadow daddy who isn’t ruthless or bad but just sweet and a little timid with his powers. I also love the elements of found family and personal growth we got from our FMC aubrielle. I thought the narrator did an amazing job bringing the story to life via audiobook and will definitely listen to the next one!

Magic and Mayhem
A Recipe for Magic and Martha by J.M. Wallace is a fantastic fairy tale fantasy. Jess Moran did a fantastic job on the narration, Hess brought the spark for life. The story is cozy, fun, sweet, heartwarming, romantic, entertaining, engaging, and enjoyable. A little mayhem can’t be bad right but when mayhem keeps occurring in Ellamere things change but not for the good. One handsome stranger and a girl who is just trying to keep her grandmother’s bakery a float. Will Abrielle save her grandmother bakery? Will Deimos and Abrielle have a relationship? Will Abrielle be able to send Deimos back to his world before something happens? All this questions and more maybe answers when you listen to the story. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Fun story of a baker's world going topsy turvy!
I really enjoyed the premise of this story. A baker finds a mysterious cookbook and accidentally does magic, summoning someone from the magical realm that ends up wreaking havoc in her world. I really liked how the romance slowly grew over time, and thought it was well done. However, there was definitely more mentioning of nudity and her checking him out than I tend to like, so I'd definitely leave this for an older audience although nothing actually happens on page besides kissing.
I loved the ending, I thought it was perfect even if I saw parts of it coming. I loved that the conflict didn't just have a bandaid put on it but consequences actually happened overall. One of my favorite parts was the main female character being reminded that her hero was human and though she saw the best with her hero worship, her hero wasn't actually perfect.
I thought the narration was well done, I could definitely tell the different characters apart and I was very entertained throughout.

Surprised
I was so surprised at Mabel, why would she try to do that, and I'm also glad about the king and the princess doing what they did, I thought it was beautiful

A+ Had me on the edge of my seat! I can hardly wait for book 2!
When I first got this book, I wasn't sure what to think, and almost thought it might be a children's or young adults (YA) novel. I was actually pleasantly surprised as I started listening to it, that the characters were well developed and the plot is equally well thought out.
What do you do when you are the last living member of your family, and it's your job to run your grandmother's beloved bakery? That is exactly the position Abrielle finds herself in, but on top of baking and filling not only the towns daily orders, the kings daily orders, any town or seasonal celebrations the king may place orders for, but suddenly she realizes there is an annual dessert contest coming up that her grandmother always won. NO PROBLEM, RIGHT!
Of course, Abrielle is a little concerned, and she tries a new recipe. With this new recipe a very handsome man shows up from the Underworld, and cannot go back unless she sends him back. Oh, and by the way did I mention that Eldemere is supposed to be Magic free? Ooops...I think that Recipe might have gone wrong!
This book kept me enthralled and on the edge of my seat. I personally can't wait for Book 2!
