Publisher's summary

Family is not always determined by blood . . . Sometimes it's found in the people you love. Lawrence "LT" Palmer came from humble beginnings. Contrary to his past, LT is now a self-made billionaire, the mayor of a large metropolitan city, and about to marry the love of his life, Sapphire "Phire" Lassiter. Sapphire, the sassy-mouthed baby girl of a family of twelve children, brought life, passion, and love into his world. She is his inspiration for the games he designs and his biggest supporter as mayor. However, her wish for their wedding day is something he is not sure he can deliver.

Sapphire Lassiter has connections all the way to the White House. She has the ability to make things happen and people disappear. However, at this moment she has two goals. One is to marry LT Palmer, the other is to have his and her family together supporting them on their wedding day. Unfortunately, two of LT's half-siblings interfere in her dream. They go too far when their cruelty touches LT's grandmother. For Sapphire, all bets are off for a friendly-family gathering. Rather than striking back with her fists, which is her usual reaction, Sapphire counteracts with a vengeance that is life-changing for many. Will LT and Sapphire make it to the altar before one of them end up behind bars? No one is certain as the wedding of the century turns into . . . a risky affair.

Well blended

I love how you brought the sibling together and incorporated them to their father company utilizing their individual skill sets. Now everyone has a shared accountability. We'll what else can I say...Saphire Lassiter has come into her own and she's handling everyone. IJS

LT. and Phire Palmer

I love Iris Bolling's storytelling. The Lassiter's are an amazing family with some awesome skills. Well, this is one Sapphire Josephine Lassiter, is unique all on her own. She definitely brings that Phire. L.T. Palmer, where's my fan 🌬. Tall, Sexy, Rich, Brilliant, and did I say mouthwateringly sexy. Gracious! Thanks Iris.
My only drawback was the narrator's female voice.

LT and Phire

I enjoyed this book so much I listened to it twice. I NEVER listen to or read anything twice in a row. I listened to the audiobook and thought the narration was good.

I thought it would be even better with a female narrator like Wesleigh Siobhan, Adenrele Ojo, or Mari. I could almost hear one of them being Phire, Opal, Sally, etc. Still, Winston James was good.

I realized with this book that I don't mind drama as long as it's not that lingering type between a couple. Outside drama is fine. The way the Lassiter women handle it, even better.

The suspense, the intrigue, the danger, and the references to current events all worked in this book. Also the strong sense of family support, loyalty, and integrity, while doing what needs to be done.

I loved that Phire didn't spend all her time giving Lauren and Lawrence the benefit of the doubt.

I definitely plan to learn more about the Lassiter family. I am looking forward to reading the Gems and Gents books.
