This was quite the mystery romance. By the end we have a romance and some mysteries solved. Some of the heroine's memories return, and some of the memories could have knocked me over with a feather!! An enjoyable story with some mysteries to come. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a good job bringing the characters and story to life.

The only thing that would have made this book even better is the addition of a male narrator for Dylan’s character. (Even though Charlie Albers does an excellent job!) The love/hate relationship between Scarlett and Dylan made for interesting listening along with the myriad of characters from the small quaint seaside village where the story takes place. There were quite a few twists and turns that were somewhat unexpected. Loved how Dylan truly cares for Scarlett and their adventures to their HEA.

This book was one of the most enjoyable that I've listened to all year! The FMC Scarlett is so quirky and cringy. I found myself giggling out loud many times.

Scarlett is hilarious. She made a mean post on an influencer's page and then is immediately convinced that post somehow made the influencer go missing. She is determined to try to solve this mystery while staying out of the way of the new detective in town, Dylan. She and Dylan didn't have the best first impression as she trod on his foot and then proceeded to embarrass herself.

Scarlett has some unresolved things from her past that do contribute to her perceived responsibility.

The narration on this book was so engaging. I just loved it!

Scarlett and Dylan’s investigation is entertaining and full of charm — a cozy mystery with just the right mix of intrigue and romance. The story is sweet, fun, and sprinkled with witty banter, slow burn romance, and twists that keep you engaged from start to finish. Charlie Albers has a lovely, easy-to-listen-to voice, and she does a great job bringing the characters and the story to life. This was an easy, fun listen that made the hours fly by. The romance was engaging, with just the right balance of tension and tenderness, and the twists and turns kept things interesting. The narration? Absolute five stars. Charlie Albers truly brings every character to life—she knows exactly how to elevate a story and deliver those perfect emotional beats. I found myself smiling (and even snickering) more than once. A thoroughly enjoyable listen!

This is a good story about Scarlett, Dylan and a journey to solve the mystery of Ada. Scarlett, a Londoner, sent a snippy response to online influencer Ada's post. Then Ada has not posted for several days. What has happened to Ada? Dylan, a new police officer in town, seeks answers too. Scarlett and Dylan, get off to a rocky start with an immediate dislike for each other. This begins this fun and quirky story. This is a good story that I really enjoyed, especially how it developed.

I'm falling in love with Heather Bay. I read the last book in this series, The Accidental Actress, and didn't realize it was a series. These books are easy to pick up as a stand alone but they are so cute and quirky that I want to go back and read the first book to find out Emerald's story. She makes an appearance in this book but no Lexie this time (although it does look like she's coming back in a later book). This book is all about Scarlet. The journalist who uncovered the truth about Lexie and Jett's romance and spread her version of events worldwide. She's not exactly the most popular person in Heather Bay and big stories like Lexie fake dating a celebrity are hard to find in tiny Heather Bay. Edna the sheep going missing is the biggest story in town. Scarlet has bigger problems though because an Instagram celebrity, Ada Valentine, has gone missing after Scarlet sent a nasty message. As she tries to find out what happened to Edna and Ada, one man keeps standing in her way and coming to her rescue, Dylan the local policeman. Just like Lexie, I started off not liking Scarlet but she grows on you the more you get to know her. Her backstory is great and the mystery is entertaining with a satisfying ending. I loved listening to the Scottish accents with the audiobook. I felt like I was right there in Heather Bay.

I loved this story. And Charlie Albers does an AMAZING job narrating it.

Scarlett and Dylan certainly have amazing banter, and their interactions are amusing and entertaining. Add the residents of their small town, as the elusive Ava Valentine to the mix (and lets not forget the livestock), and you have a ton of fun... And there is a great mix of mystery and romance to keep both genre enthusiasts involved in the story...

This is a truly fabulous addition to the Heather Bay Romance series!
