Publisher's summary

It's games night over at Mrs. Ladle's.

Despite it being slightly more fun than a visit to a 12th-century dentist, Stitches doesn't want to go. Tonight, Mrs. Ladle has promised them something special: a game that hasn't been played for a very long time. One that's bound to make the evening fly by.

This could be the start of another adventure crammed with intrigue and weirdness and packed full of derring-do and never-before-chronicled acts of heroism and bravery.

Ollie and his ever-faithful crew travel with Mrs. Ladle to somewhere very strange indeed, where you'll learn things such as:

  • Why the forest is a bit of an odd place
  • What a witch keeps up her sleeve
  • And why there seems to be poo everywhere

love this author narrator duo

Chuckles, giggles, and laughter while I follow the author's trains of thought to near derailment. I love the characters, their predictability, relationship interactions, and their unexpected actions. This series is in my "attitude adjustment" listening...it lightens my outlook and mood.

Pratchet and Adams would envy this series

Ladies and gentlemen, hobbits and aliens, and anyone else who happened to stumble upon this auditory delight! Grab your metaphorical towels and brace yourselves, for I present to you an intergalactic escapade that even Zaphod Beeblebrox would envy: "A Witch in Time," the fifth riveting installment in the Skullenia series by the incomparably imaginative Tony Lewis! Narrated by the vocal virtuoso, Toby J. Smith.

Picture this: a quaint town, nestled amidst the hills and valleys of Skullenia, where the streets are as winding as the plots of a thousand twisted novels. But hark! This time, our intrepid hero, Stitches, finds himself teetering on the precipice of a game night. Ah, yes, games night at Mrs. Ladle's abode, where fun reigns as dominantly as a three-headed alien overlady, or perhaps not.

As our valiant protagonist contemplates the event with an enthusiasm slightly less exuberant than a Vogon poetry recital, a twist of fate unfolds. Mrs. Ladle, the harbinger of oddity and excitement, promises a game so ancient that it's practically a fossil with dice. A game so elusive that it's been whispered about in the same breath as the fabled Lost Sock Nebula.

Hold on to your teleportation devices, because this peculiar games night transports us not just to a realm of dice and strategy, but to a dimension where oddness reigns supreme. Join Ollie and his faithful companions on a journey to a place so bizarre, even the Infinite Improbability Drive would need a GPS to navigate it.

In this astonishing chronicle, dear listeners, you shall discover the enigmatic peculiarities of the local forest—perhaps home to trees that ponder the meaning of leaves and squirrels that debate existential nut theories. And what's this? A witch, you say? But fear not, for this witch, like all the best magical entities, has secrets concealed up her billowing sleeves, secrets that may include ancient scrolls, magical doodads, and the occasional emergency snack.

Yet, let us not neglect the most pressing question that echoes through this tale: why, oh why, is there an abundance of the unmentionable scattered everywhere like confetti at a supernova celebration? Is it a cosmic joke? A mischievous poltergeist with a digestive complaint? Only time will reveal the cosmic secret of the universal excretion phenomenon.

So, gather 'round, my fellow auditory adventurers, and immerse yourselves in the dulcet tones of Toby J. Smith as he guides you through this tale of wit, whimsy, and what-on-Earth-is-that. Prepare to be whisked away on an auditory odyssey that will have you laughing, pondering, and quite possibly reevaluating your perspective on forests, witches, and the cosmic distribution of unmentionables. "A Witch in Time," is not just an audiobook—it's an experience, a journey, a rollercoaster ride through the ever-curious mind of Tony Lewis. Don't forget your towel!
