As they make the perilous journey to the distant firewall, Taimin and Selena are joined by three companions: a young healer, a weapons trader, and an old rover. Critic reviews

“Master narrator Simon Vance performs the second entry in The Firewall Trilogy.... Vance gives each character a subtly different voice—except for the monstrous creatures Taimin crosses path with. His narration will engage new and returning listeners alike as the plot races toward revealing the answers Taimin seeks. A good book, not great, but certainly good. Worth reading the next in the series.

Very original storyline

I am listening to the third book of this trilogy on the third day I started it.
This should be praise enough

A long read but worth it

This book took me longer than the first book to finish. It's not that it was bad or anything just sometimes I felt like it dragged. However, I did find it more entertaining than the first. I Like how the characters grew closer and figured out many things. The ending was quite good! I was expecting it after a while and was satisfied with it too. Sometimes it can draw on but it's not bad, I think it's definitely worth it. It's quite an adventure and the characters are chrismatic and likable. I do look forward to reading the third!

Wow!

What a great start to a fun fantasy trilogy! I truly enjoyed this and am looking for more! In a way, it reminded me of ERB's Barsoom series. Just a great read read by an excellent reader.

A Huge Quest

On the heels of victory, Taiman and his friends face a new threat. Can they work together to face it? If you like stories with inner and outer journeys, you’ll like this second installment of the Firewall Trilogy.

It could have been better

I have read now James Maxwell's work and can say he is a much greater writer than what he offers in this trilogy. The plot was too simplistic for him and the characters do not leave the pages of the book. it feels as they never take on a life of their own. There is a sense of fatigue. The first two series were wonderful. I fell in love with the characters and couldn't stop listening.
Still, I listened to all three books. Where the story was wanting, the amazing Simon Vance would compensate for it with his suave and sophisticated voice and engaging narration.

Not your average end of days story

this story drew me in with its unique take on the apocalypse theme and gives you a interesting and unexpected hero.

Wow!

The adventure continues. Not as grand as the first book but, wonderful nevertheless. Great world building. The narrator made this world spectacular and real. I've got to purchase the third installment.
