About this listen

Ever feel like ADHD advice was written for everyone… except you?

Have you tried all the "proven" ADHD strategies for adults and still feel like you're falling behind?

Does every planner, system, or ADHD workbook promise life-changing results—yet somehow, they never work for you?

Do you feel like no matter how hard you try, life is just harder with an ADHD brain?

If you answered yes, you're not alone.

Let’s be real: ADHD isn’t one-size-fits-all. And most advice out there? It’s not built for the way neurodivergent minds actually work. You’ve probably tried every ADHD coping skill and productivity hack, only to watch everything fall apart after a few days. You start motivated, telling yourself this time will be different—but then the system fails, and you’re left frustrated, overwhelmed, and exhausted.

What This Book Will Do for You

Make productivity work for you – Stop forcing yourself into rigid systems that always fall apart. Learn ADHD-friendly tools that actually stick. Help you regulate emotions before they take over – Practical strategies for handling frustration, rejection sensitivity, and stress without spiraling. Improve relationships without burning out – Understand how ADHD impacts communication and connection so you can strengthen relationships without guilt. Help you navigate the workplace with confidence – Learn how to manage deadlines, focus through distractions, and advocate for yourself without feeling like you’re just trying to "keep up." Guide you toward a life that works for you – No more struggling to fit into systems that weren’t built for ADHD. This book will help you create your own ADHD management plan.

ADHD Brains Don’t Fit in a Box. Your Strategies Shouldn’t Either.

This isn't about forcing yourself into another rigid ADHD for adults workbook. It’s about finding what works for you.

A Survival Guide for ADHD Brains

I’ve listen a lot of ADHD books, but none have been as helpful as this one. Harper explains why traditional systems fail ADHD brains and provides realistic alternatives that actually work. Her approach is kind, non-judgmental, and incredibly validating. The section on workplace struggles and advocating for yourself was especially eye-opening for me. I feel more confident now, knowing that I don’t have to force myself into neurotypical systems to succeed. This book will change lives!

Solid, But Wanted More

This book is a fantastic introduction for those struggling with ADHD or feeling lost in traditional advice. Harper’s approach is fresh and relatable. However, if you’ve already read multiple ADHD books, you might find a lot of familiar concepts here. Still, the way she presents them is engaging, and the focus on personalization is a definite plus. Worth a listen, but might not be groundbreaking for everyone.

Finally, ADHD Advice That Fits

So many ADHD books give the same generic advice, but this one is different. Amy Harper’s approach is both practical and adaptable, making it easy to personalize. I especially loved the sections on workplace success and navigating relationships—things that many books barely touch on. I’ve already applied some of the strategies, and I feel more in control of my life. The narration was also fantastic. A must-listen for any adult with ADHD!

Incredibly Helpful!

This book helped me understand my ADHD in a way that no other book has. Instead of trying to "fix" myself, I now see that I just need different strategies. The book covers so many important areas—work, relationships, emotions—and gives practical ways to manage them. The narration by Marissa DuBois was engaging and easy to follow. I’ve already recommended this audiobook to several friends with ADHD!

Exactly What I Needed

I’ve read countless ADHD books, but none have resonated like this one. Amy Harper acknowledges that ADHD brains are all different and don’t fit into a single system. The book helped me understand why so many productivity hacks failed me in the past and how to create strategies that actually work for my brain. The section on emotional regulation was a game-changer—no more spiraling out of control! Marissa DuBois' narration made it even more engaging. If you’re tired of ADHD advice that doesn’t work, this book is a must-listen!

The Most Helpful ADHD Book Ever

This book should be required reading for anyone with ADHD! It covers everything—time management, emotions, relationships, work challenges—without being overwhelming. Harper’s approach is flexible and realistic, which makes it so much more helpful than other books I’ve read. I also love that she emphasizes self-acceptance instead of just trying to “fix” yourself. Marissa DuBois’ narration is warm and engaging, making it an easy listen. 100% worth it!

Made ADHD Make Sense

For years, I’ve felt like a failure because none of the so-called "proven" ADHD strategies worked for me. This audiobook was a breath of fresh air! It reassured me that I’m not broken—just wired differently. I appreciated the realistic approach to productivity and time management, and the tips for handling rejection sensitivity hit home. It’s been life-changing to finally have strategies that fit my actual needs instead of trying to force myself into someone else’s plan. Highly recommended!

Highly Recommend!

I’ve tried so many ADHD organization systems, only to abandon them within days. This book helped me realize that it’s not my fault—it’s just that those systems weren’t designed for my brain. Harper’s approach to productivity is realistic and actually sustainable. The chapter on workplace strategies helped me feel more confident in my job, and the emotional regulation tips have been a lifesaver. If you struggle with traditional ADHD advice, give this book a try!

A Fresh, ADHD-Friendly Approach

This isn’t just another book full of generic ADHD advice. Harper dives deep into the emotional and psychological side of ADHD, helping you understand why you struggle and how to work with your brain instead of against it. The sections on emotional regulation and rejection sensitivity were especially helpful for me. It’s like she put into words everything I’ve felt but couldn’t explain. Absolutely worth every second!
