About this listen
Held captive by circumstance and forced to choose between love and freedom.
At a young age Elizabeth, known as Lizzy to most, develops a bit of a crush on Jones, an older boy she meets under desperate circumstances. Over the next few months, they develop a unique bond, a bond of secrets and lies, which Lizzy struggles to keep hidden from the rest of the world. When Jones moves away, Lizzy knows he’s gone forever, and so she goes on with her life the best she can while attempting to keep her darkness nicely tucked away. Eventually, she meets Peter and falls hard for him. But a wonderful guy is not enough to take away her pain; quite the opposite. Now she lives in constant fear that he will learn she is not the girl he thinks she is, forcing her to live behind a fragile facade, making Peter think all is normal, but that could not be further from the truth. As Lizzy struggles to keep her secrets hidden, she finds herself falling in love with not one but two guys. One knows her past, and the other knows her lies. All she wants is to find a love that will heal her soul but instead finds herself in a fight to save more than just her heart.
And Then Came Me is a highly emotional page-turner of a young girl's spirit to fight back through life's heartbreaking and unjust experiences.

Narration is awful
The plot sounded interesting but I couldn’t make it past chapter 4. The narration is odd. Sometimes it sounds flat and robotic. Other times the intonation is off. Once I noticed it, I couldn’t stop my brain from listening for these moments.
