Publisher's summary

Can someone really be addicted to marijuana? Am *I* addicted to marijuana? Is it possible to live a life free from this addiction?

These are the questions I asked myself when I was at the lowest point of my marijuana addiction. I couldn’t see it then, but the answer to all of these questions was yes. Marijuana addiction is real, it ruled my life for more than 20 years. Life’s circumstances created a mental environment ripe for escape when weed surfaced in my life. Using marijuana led me to crowds who used other, even more addictive, substances. When enough was enough, I didn’t know where to go or that help was available to me. I share my story to offer a lifeline to anyone who uses marijuana and wants to stop, to live a different, better, and more fulfilling life.

In this book, you will learn:

  • That anyone can become a marijuana addict
  • That many, including the addict, do not take marijuana addiction seriously.
  • That marijuana can lead to other addictive substances.
  • How I walked through addiction in all its forms and lived to tell the tale.
  • That there is hope for marijuana addicts.

Filled with insights about the ugly side of addiction and how it can slowly poison everything in your life, I offer this memoir with the hope that, if you smoke like I smoked and feel like I felt, you are not alone. What I share may help you to reach the light at the end of the tunnel, discovering that there is a life after addiction, and a community of others willing to travel on this journey with you.

Insightful Read for Any Addiction

Although I haven't personally struggled much with marijuana, alcohol, or other drugs, my primary addiction has been to negative self-talk and beliefs that have prevented my 'true self' from emerging. Seeking a fresh perspective on this internal battle, I was drawn to Kathy D.'s "Addicted: Recovering from Marijuana Addiction." The insights and parallels I found within its pages were nothing short of remarkable.

As I listened to this audio version, there were moments when I felt as though Kathy was narrating my own life experiences, albeit with a few details altered. Whenever the word "marijuana" appeared, I mentally substituted it with "my negative self-talk," or sabotaging belief, and found the book to be incredibly insightful and engaging from the first page to the last.

Kathy's wisdom on self-discovery, the struggle with "not fitting in," and the question of "who am I changing for?" serve as guiding lights in my own journey. Her empowering concepts resonate deeply with me, and I am profoundly grateful for her willingness to share such an intimate and impactful part of her life in these pages. It gives me a sense of hope, encouragement and inspiration that is invaluable, while providing me with tools and a roadmap to continue navigating my self-healing journey. Thank you, Kathy, for sharing such a beautiful and transformative piece of yourself with the world.

A good read for the sober curious

I am pleasantly surprised by this memoir. This is an autobiography with a lot of advice about recovery from marijuana addiction. Recovery books are often boring and cliche. But this book is fresh, insightful and entertaining. I found it to offer a useful perspective as well as being fun to read.

At the very least this book kept me away from weed for several hours. But perhaps I will stop smoking entirely in part because of this book.

If you are sober curious and want an entertaining book that presents the principles of AA (but for marijuana), this is the best book I have found so far!

This is an excellent recovery book! Perfect for anyone curious about getting off weed.

Thank you Kathy D!
