About this listen

The Apocalypse is here. Monsters roam the Earth. To survive, he must master the System.

Giant fireblasts tear across the earth as the Gates of Hell are ripped open. In an instant, billions are killed. Human technology becomes utterly worthless in the face of the end of the world.

Fortunately for Jaco, he barely survives the opening act of the Apocalypse.

Unfortunately for him, he has to live through what comes next.

Those who died in the initial blast are reincarnated as undead monsters. Massive fiery pits swallow up the center of every major city across the world. Demonic creatures make all realms of Earth their home.

But all hope is not lost. The Angels left a parting gift before their defeat. A System that bestows Humanity the power to fight back.

With it, Jaco shall master his Druid Class and do whatever it takes to not only survive the end of the world, but to thrive.

Don't miss the start of this new Apocalyptic System LitRPG by V.A. Lewis, bestselling author of Salvos and Amelia The Level Zero Hero, writing together with D. Pidge. Featuring loads of action, a detailed system, power progression, Druid abilities, and so much more!

It's perfect for fans of System Apocalypse, Apocalypse Redux, and Primal Hunter!

a hell of a good time

the gates of hell are open, heaven has fallen, but a new hope opens up with the system that was created to help mankind to have the ability to fight back the minions of hell.

really once I started I couldn't stop, and I can't wait until book 2 to come out. I would highly recommend this story

Pretty generic

This would be for young adults if it didn’t have a few needless curse words. Main character is a blank slate. We literally learn nothing about him and he has three lines 8hrs in. Standard litrpg tropes with no spins. Repetitive fights with repetitive monsters. System based skills.

A try to listen to LitRPG

I always wanted to try out the LitRPG genre and Aethon gave me thatbopporunity by sending me a code. I might also not be the best to review the book, but I will keep it positive.
The book is the adevrnture of a young man as he tries to understand how and RPG system, set up during the Apocalypse, works. Many pages are thus focused on thinking how that system works, another many are set on the fights that the character has. Since this is the first book, only the scene is set, with the enemies presented, especially the "Chosen", who hunt other people for XP instead of monsters. It also ebda very openly and I feel there is a lack of "real" character growth. It is mostly based on the exponential growthnin strength of the main character, which I felt a bit lackluster. Hopefully the next books focuses more on the personal conflicts that are started here.
As if this convinced me to read more LitRPG? Not really. It was fun to try out a new genre, but I think the way the world worked, as a computer game, was unconvincing and not really my cup of tea . If you like LitRPGs though, this can be your next read.

Always good to see a Druid get the spotlight.

Fun read that I look forward to seeing how the character develops. Will be keeping an eye out for the next one.

Immersive Descriptions

Not a typical adaptation. I appreciated the depth of experiential description given to Jacko's abilities and perceptions. I love the idea of drawing on aspects of creatures as opposed to simply a shape change, as well as the dynamic of passive and active use of characteristics/ spells. It made me want to start up a new dnd campaign to explore some homebrew possibilities.

I liked, it

it was a good, story, I have read reviews of people talking about how it is just a bunch of tropes but I have read ALOT of litrpgs, and other books as well romances mostly and to be honest with you I am not sure were people are thinking theses tropes they are talking about they think came from, the book seemed very unique, to me honestly reading the reviews I am a little anger on behalf of the arthur, what they are talking about is not only giving tons of spoilors for the book, but they say they are upset about tropes which they really are not any that I can tell, from what they are talking about they seem upset that the story is written is in arcs, and there is nothing wrong with that the arcs flow very well into each other you don't even tell until you stop reading and think about it, and the character growth is great, I really like the magic system, the power progression is great with out being bogged down by detailed boring grinding but with just enough detail on the struggles of grinding monsters for power that it dose not seem like nothing is happening and to be entertaining, the voice acter was not whispering ether, I could hear them just fine and I was listening why at work, they have a softer voice then most people but they are not whisper and I thought personal that they did a great job, they were clear difference voices for ALL, the characters and the emotion really came though in the voice of the voice acter

Really good

love that the mc has a druid class even after he wwent with a more physical route i do have to say that I rolled my eyes with the cliche and predictable series of events, MC thrives alone , helps a group of people, goes to their camp, grows complacent, something bad happens, mc blames himself blah blah blah. honestly I will be getting book 2 because of the cliffhanger at the end

A new Druid emerges

This is the first book in a new LitRPG series. Expect a MC who cursed, cries and exhibits steely determination. Not a huge fan of why the apocalypse happens(God went out for milk and never came back). I also like to listen to these kinds of stories while doing other activities like mowing the lawn, doing dishes, driving to work, or going for a run. However, the narrator’s voice gets washed out by background noise since it is closer to a well recorded whisper than loudly projecting his normal speaking voice. It’s a solid beginning but I haven’t seen much that truly separates this story from the pack.
