Publisher's summary

Briella’s life has never been perfect, but she’s always been exactly where she wanted to be. Then her mother marries into the King’s Descendants Motorcycle Club, and everything changes. Her new step brother and friend Alarick is the only thing keeping her sane as she discovers the club and all the dangers it holds, finding herself tangled in a world she can’t even begin to comprehend.

It’s dangerous and scares her. He’s dangerous and scares her. Their love will become toxic, their hearts, entangle, and everything about him will make her question herself.

When tragedy strikes, Briella knows she needs to run. She leaves everyone behind and starts a new life. But then she’s forced to go back - to the place she vowed never to return to, a place where Alarick is now president and her sister is now missing, a place where pain hides in the darkest corners, secrets and lies fill all the broken gaps, and happiness is a deadly trap...a place where he does not want her.

But Briella will return with her own secrets and face the man she ran from. She will enter a world so much darker than she remembers. She will go back to where it all began: the King’s Descendants Motorcycle Club.

Story not horrible but….

The story itself isn’t horrible but I didn’t like the narrator’s voice and I didn’t like the cliffhanger ending. Just because I didn’t like this all that much doesn’t mean I don’t want to know what happens but I just can’t see myself spending another credit on the next book.

I am diving straight into book 2!

Alarick sets the foundation for the series. It weaves a complicated tale of many characters that are involved with Alarick and Brielle. The first part of the story addresses Brielle's perspective. She and Alarick have always had a bond when she was growing up. It turned into more when she was old enough and despite her feelings for him, when tragedy strikes, she ran. They were thrown together after her mother marries the MC present, who is Alarick's father. Fast forward five years later and she returns to find her missing sister. This puts her back into contact with her MC family. Alarick understandably is very angry and wants nothing to do with Briellla. Their story unfolds as she delves into the mystery of events that began before her departure five years ago. Many twists and turns and mysteries evolve that should be answered in book 2. I thought Samatha Summer portrayal of the characters was well done . She does not narrate book 2 and judging by reviews I may just read it instead.

WELCOME BACK BELLA💞!!!!
I love Bella Jewel and her return to MC Romance is off to a great start.
The lead female is way too Whitney for me, but that is just the characters personality.
Samantha Summers delivers a stellar performance!!
So excited for more to come from one of my favorite MC authors👏👏👏👏👏
