Pleasant & Enriching

I’m always looking to read new fairytales or even old ones I’ve never yet heard. I found this collection of ‘new’ fairytales thoroughly enjoyable and enriching.

I’ve never heard of nor read any of Alydia Rackham’s works before, and was pleasantly impressed. Each story was well thought out, every plot unfolding with ease, holding at their heart an allegorical depth or lesson. They were concise, rich in telling and brought on a feeling of nostalgia that I believe all fairytales should.

My one complaint:
The computer generated narrator lacked personable warmth and inflection in areas where a real human voice wouldn’t have. Hence, parts of the reading coming across a little flat, which I found distracting.
