About this listen
Leah prepares herself for a loveless marriage to Isaac, the boy who has been chosen for her. As she yearns for a true love, she unexpectedly meets Roy on one of her secret nightly walks, and her heart and soul realize a stirring that she has never before felt.
As her life is forever changed with that encounter, her heart is torn in two, as she must choose between following her heart or following her family's wishes to marry a man she will never love. Roy encourages her to rebel against her family's wish for her to marry Isaac but Leah is torn over straying from her faith and traditions.
As her growing love for Roy leads her towards the modern world and away from her faith, upbringing, and tradition, Leah is willing to leave the only world she's ever known to be with Roy. But will she be able to overcome the heartache that awaits her?

Enjoyable enough short read
I felt like there could have been more build up considering the plot the author was working with, but overall I enjoyed the story.

Good book
Wish it was longer. It cut off in the end I wish you could have gone into her future and said what happen.

Good
Well written and a interesting, a different perspective of Amish than I have read or listen to before. I was surprised when it ended, not a cliffhanger ending just abrupt. The narrator done a wonderful job, very pleasant voice.

Short and sweet
This is a wonderful little story about about Leah standing up for herself and not accepting the future other people have planned for her. Given that it is just over an hour it does feel a bit rushed at times but then I do like when a story is fast paced and do not linger unnecessarily.

Worst book about the Amish people I ever read
This book was so factually inaccurate regarding Amish people and communities. The Amish people don't have arranged marriages, let alone forced arranged marriages. And Amish girls don't grow up not knowing that there's not another world outside of their Village. It was also just poorly written in general. I see this author has other books about Amish characters you would think she would do a little research. The type of Village she is describing seems more like a cult or like Warren Jeffs communitie. The Amish community in this book must be set on another planet because it does not reflect even slightly the community is described in every other Amish themed book I've ever read. The amish people and community have always fascinated me. I've read more than my fair share of books about them. If you're looking for a well written and accurate book about the Amish people I would check out anything by Shelley Shepard Gray. And if you're looking for something a little darker you should definitely check out the Kate Burkgolder series by Linda Castillo.
