Publisher's summary

When a strange child follows her home on the train from London, Ella Bridges feels bound to help her. However, she soon discovers the child is not what she seems.

Having recently moved into a large home on Linhay Island, affectionately known locally as the Yellow Cottage, Ella finds herself at the center of a murder investigation thanks to a special gift from the previous house owner.

Along with her unusual sidekick, a former cottage resident, Ella follows clues that take her to the heart of London. As the mystery unravels, she is forced to enter the lion's den to solve the crime and stop the perpetrator.

But can she do it before she becomes the next victim?

OK

That’s all I can say it’s an OK book. Glad it was short and had an excellent narrator or I wouldn’t have finished it.

Beautifully written story

I finished this story in one sitting. It was so engrossing that I couldn't stop listening until the end. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves classic British crime and mystery novels. The book was well written and well narrated. Kudos to both J. New and Jilly Bond.

Too many ghosts

The story was kind of fun but I do prefer a modicum of reality. I must have missed the part about ghosts in the publishers summary. I will be returning this book since I don’t plan to listen to it again at any point in the future.
