Publisher's summary

The heart is exquisite.

You’ll never hear anyone wax poetic over an organ quite like they do the heart. When you’re lost in the world? Follow your heart.

When your love for someone is unwavering, unparalleled and unprecedented? You give them your heart.

As a lead pediatric cardiac surgeon, I knew better than anyone that the heart is equally as powerful as it is delicate.

The heart giveth just as easily as it taketh away.

And until the day Kelly Potter darkened my doorway that was all just part of the job.

She rolled in like a slow evening storm, fierce and beautiful, fighting for the life of her unborn child.

It should have been business as usual.

I was a doctor.

Her child the patient.

But Kelly was more.

She was the one who got away.

I wouldn’t make the same mistake twice.

It didn’t matter what the rules were.

For once, I was listening to my heart.

Slow but sweet

I was excited to be able to read more of the story between Kelly and Anthony, but it was hard to get into this one. While the "what happened" to cause him to kick her out all those years ago is revealed, is is done so slowly, which drove me nuts. Otherwise, the story is sweet, emotional, and full of feels. Narrators did a fine job. 3.5 stars.

Another winner from Amie Knight!

An Imperfect Heart was such a unique story- somewhat of a second chance, but yet still a delicious slow burn. Kelly and Anthony had amazing chemistry, but I also enjoying seeing them grow a friendship and just enjoy simple companionship as well- their banter was hilarious and conversations believable. And their moms- what a hoot they both were! Although this book can completely stand alone, it was nice to see characters from Knight's other Heart books. Overall, another winner from Amie Knight!

A perfect story

Another roller coast ride of emotions that will tug at your heart strings.
This story has a little bit of everything.
Emotion, sexy times, super cute moments and some laugh out ones too.
The two moms together are a riot.

I adore all the nicknames Doc has for Kelly, and Doc's capacity for love.
It was a great book.

Great read!

First off, so great to revisit Ainsley and Maranda's crazy and hilarious personalities.
This was the best of the series to me. I knew Kelley and Doc's story would be phenomenal. The maturity, devotion, and generosity of Doc's heart, made me fall in love. Kelley is the right woman for him, and he is the right man for her. Kelley is strong and courageous. the love they share for baby Hope is admirable! Never give up Hope!

An engaging love story

Amie Knight tells a sweet and engaging love story. She paints a picture of each moment that it makes it really easy to follow along in the audio. The dialogue is good and at times quite witty. I particularly enjoyed the first meeting between the two main characters 😊

It’s a fun listen and if you are fan of sweet love stories, you will enjoy this one.

An emotional master piece

Why didn't I listen and read An Imperfect Heart by Amie Knight sooner? It's an outstanding and emotional story that reminded me of some of my own experiences. This book touches hard topics with a proper and fact-based approach, it also made me smile and laugh a lot. Kelly's spunk and no filter are hilarious, and so are Anthony's antics and the plethora of cute nicknames he has for Kelly.

Amie Knight perfectly interweaved the story between the present and the one night when Kelly and Jackson met ten years before. They were full of dreams back then: he was going to med school, she was about to tour with her band. Now, she is pregnant with a sick unborn child and he is THE pediatric heart doctor that can save her daughter. Kelly is a mother through and through, one who will stop at nothing to save her baby girl.

One of the aspects I loved the most about An Imperfect Heart was the natural progression of Kelly and Anthony's relationship. The underlining issue of having a baby with a heart defect is there and yet it didn't overtake the story. Amie Knight's writing is exquisite, poetic, and funny.

Since I read the book but I also listened to the audio version, I think it's only appropriate to applaud Noah Michael Levine and Erin deWard's narration. Erin was the perfect Kelly.

The Heart Has It!

A great story, a few surprises along with a pretty predictable story-line but getting to the end was great fun! A little raunchy language, sexually laced, … great listen!
