Publisher's summary

You count a pregnancy by weeks, and Kayla Aimee had ticked off only 24 of the 40 when she unexpectedly went into labor. She thought her church upbringing had prepared her for every circumstance, but when tragedy struck and threatened to take the life of her newborn daughter, it felt as though once-solid ground had turned to glass beneath her feet, destined to shatter everything she held sacred. When swept into a story of suffering, we all find ourselves vulnerable, questioning everything we thought we knew as we wonder, "Where is God in this?" With everything feeling as fragile as her one-and-a-half-pound daughter, Kayla finds herself asking that same question as she faces her greatest fear: that she may have finally become a mother just to lose her only child.

Both poignant and humorous, Anchored recounts Kayla's gripping story of learning to navigate her newfound motherhood in the most unexpected of ways, from holidays in the hospital and middle-of-the-night phone calls to the joy of coming home. With vulnerability and plenty of wit, Kayla lays bare her struggle to redefine her faith, her marriage, and herself within the context of a tragedy she never saw coming. For anyone who has felt their faith in God falter, Anchored extends a gentle invitation to join her as she uncovers a hope that holds.

What did you love best about Anchored?

Everything, I could have never read this on my own... Listening to it on Audible was just what I needed. Thank you for letting us know about the free trail and free book.

What other book might you compare Anchored to and why?

If there is another book like this, I would love to know about it because I have never felt someone tell there story and express the same feelings I felt with our 82 day stay in the NICU.

Which scene was your favorite?

There is no favorite scene for me because they were all so touching. It is more, how Kayla expresses their experience in great detail and me, being able to understand every emotion as it was my own. Because I too have told my story and never have I had someone listen to it and UNDERSTAND.

Kayal Aimee, I understand. This life, we live as preemie parents, never ends of its worries.

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

The worries, The love, and The Strength of Mother that is an Advocate of her preemie.

Any additional comments?

Thank you for your book, With lots of love from another scared mother.

So good!

I have a hard time finishing books, even while listening to them. But this one every moment I had I had to keep listening. It helped me so much recognize pain I’m still holding onto that I didn’t realize and it also gave me so much hope. Her vulnerability and transparency spoke so much to me. It seems I often hear people just seem so impossibly strong or they’re just a wreck....but she’s so transparent in her faith and uncertainty as well as her hope, strength and weaknesses. What a beautiful story!!
