About this listen

One loser, one talking cockroach, and one karate-chopping bombshell stand between you and certain death. Or not.

No, definitely not, because the grim reaper's lost his job. He's been stripped of his scythe and banned from reaping. The angel of death has officially fallen, and he's crash-landed at 24/7 Demon Mart.

It doesn't take long for DeeDee, Lloyd, and Kevin to figure out that living with the angel of death isn't easy. Lost souls. Angry exes. Ancient curses. Will the grim reaper ever get his afterlife together? The outlook is not so good.

The reaper isn't the only angel who's out of sorts. Lloyd's devilish boss Faust hasn't been the same since a tentacle monster spit him out of an alternate dimension, and his ex-girlfriend tried to start the zombie apocalypse. And Angel eight ball? He's having a hell of a time juggling a terrible new boss and saving Lloyd from eternal damnation. As unreaped souls stack up and the specter of death looms larger, what's the Demon Mart crew to do? Find out in this grim reaper comedy

Angel Trouble is book three in the 24/7 Demon Mart series, a humorous dark fantasy and horror-comedy book series.

Includes bonus story Critters from the Poo Lagoon.

Knocked it out of the park again!!!

I just love this series!!! as an ex-pat Ohio Native living in NW Arkansas its neat to hear a story with all the Midwest/Ohio references! Keep them coming D.M. Guay. The Narrator is great too, Todd Haberkorn brings out the personalities of the characters fantastically (though in my opinion he mispronounces a couple of things but thats just me being a nitpick... lol)

Another hit out of the park

This is the third of the 24/7 Demon Mart books I’ve been through and I can’t recommend the series enough. It’s fantastic! The stories are funny and well-paced and the narration is excellent. I hope many more of these come out so that I can continue to enjoy the adventures of the 24/7 Demon Mart crew.

Y'all, these were great

This audiobook has 2 books in one, so this will be 2 separate reviews

Angel Trouble (24/7 Demon Mart #3)

This series got to me. Not gonna lie. I started this not liking Lloyd and then slowly but surely, like what he is doing in the story, he grew on me.

In this one, he is trying to better himself. That is what starts the whole shebang and clusterfreak this time. In here we have ghosts, reapers, werewolves, vamps, strippers, and a ghost child who is looking for her unicorn. All topped by someone out to bring down Zach - the saddest reaper who ever reaped.

Zach decides that Lloyd is his best friend and follows him around everywhere. This is a problem cause Zach is a grim reaper and no one wants one around.

This time however, Lloyd was able to be the hero of his own story and brought down the bad guy in this episode, as he finally started paying attention to his manual.

Then to find out who the guardian angel really was made me gasp.

I am really enjoying this series and it would not be the same without the narration of Todd Haberkorn.

Critters from the Poo Lagoon : A 24/7 Demon Mart Creature Feature

Like OMG, this one was the best of the series so far.

In this short novella, the night shift goes to a party that Lloyd's mother is having at the country club. While there, the creature from the black lagoon, trailer park redneck sirens, fish men, and a giant poop monster show up.

Lloyd finally got a bit more self aware and had some faith in himself. Not a lot, but a bit.

And Caroline is just as much a part of the crew as the rest of them. Though, I am with Lloyd about not wanting to know about his grandmother's sex life. Poor Doc.

Not gonna lie, the narration by Todd Haberkorn made this wonderful. I mean, how many people can read about a giant poo monster and make it sound so serious? The sound effects were awesome.

ROTFL

DM Guay is too funny. She is in the same realm of comedy heaven as Christopher Moore, Terry Pratchet and Douglas Adams. I love the 24/7 Demon Mart universe.

As good as the first!

This one was a very quick read. Predictable but so enjoyable. The cast was back in full swing!

Everything was good except for the kah-NAYps

This is another great book in a humorous series. The characters are engaging. Conversations are dynamic. The atmosphere is well described, and I can sink in and build the mental movie.

The narrator is great, too. The character voices are distinct. And the female voices sound plausible! Even some of my favorite male narrators struggle with female voices, so it's always nice to encounter the ones that can make me forget it's a man voicing a woman.

The only thing that threw me was during the short story at the end, when canapés was pronounced kah-NAYps. Now, maybe this is intentional. It could be that it's supposed to be that way because of small town, Midwest dialect quirks. But this is one of those times where the audio version might be unable to convey what text intended.
