Publisher's summary

The night winds were beginning their wild dances beyond the bar, and the fishing hamlet across the harbor was gemmed with lights as Anne and her husband, Gilbert, finally a doctor, drove up the poplar lane. The door of the little house opened, and a warm glow of firelight flickered out into the dusk. Gilbert lifted Anne from the buggy and led her into the garden, through the little gate, up the trim, red path to the sandstone step. "Welcome home," he whispered, and hand in hand they stepped over the threshold of their house of dreams...and the story begins.

Beautiful story hindered by reader

While not my favorite in the Anne series, this story is another full of endearing characters and stories. The narrator's voice isn't horrible, but she had trouble with randomly placing breaks in her speech (possibly when turning pages?), which was distracting. Also, the sound quality was horrendous. Wish I had asked to return it, but my daughter listened to the whole thing before me without complaint:)

Amazing!

I quite enjoyed this wonderful book. The narrator did very good with the voices, and made me feel like I was there! I would recommend this app (And book)to my friends and family.

It is my 2nd best overall ;Rilla from Ingleside #1

I love this book from all sides (story & performance); Story os great so uplifting. I would love to have friends coming to my house regardless of their age. Anne of Green Gables is the best but audible version of this book is Perfect!

Couldn't Listen to It

I'm usually pretty patient but I only made it 40 seconds into this book before returning it for a refund. The sound quality was AWFUL. The narrator didn't seem terrible, but it sounded like it had been recorded in a tin can. I decided it was worth a little more money to get the version that Barbara Caruso narrates.
