Too much and not enough ........

I stopped this Audiobook after about 8 hours because of some reasons:
First of all it gave me a bad and unhealthy feeling, the book provides very much negative atmosphere!
There are way too much persons/names and stories, all mixed up and of course soon chaotic. The author
should have been more careful in creating the story and their flow!!
Is it necessary to have so many rude and brutal passages?? And is it necessary to describe it so detailed??
And is it necessary, to make children victims?? And one child isn't enough!?
For me this all gives me a picture and feeling from/about the author which I do not like!
Some reviews say that the end is great and worth it all but I do not think I will want to know.
