Acerca de esta escucha

Forever within the memories of my heart.

Always remember, you are perfectly loved.

Bertie Jenkins has spent forty years serving as a midwife for her community in the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee. Out of all the mothers she’s tended, none affects her more than the young teenager who shows up on her doorstep, injured, afraid, and expecting, one warm June day in 1943. As Bertie and her four sisters tenderly nurture Songbird back to health, the bond between the childless midwife and the motherless teen grows strong. But soon Songbird is forced to make a heartbreaking decision that will tear this little family apart.

Thirty years later, the day after his father’s funeral, Walker Wylie is stunned to learn he was adopted as an infant. The famous country singer enlists the help of adoption advocate Reese Chandler in the hopes of learning why he was abandoned by his birth parents. With the only clue he has in hand, Walker and Reese head deep into the Appalachian Mountains to track down Bertie Jenkins, the midwife who holds the secrets to Walker’s past.

I loved the story, I wish the accents would have been authentic. Coming from the Appalachians, the narration sounded so fake. Otherwise, I loved it!

Loved the story

Oh My Goodness! I loved , loved, loved this book! The words remind of me of so many good things and bad things. And some things I ran away from.
Michelle, you are grand and vivid storyteller.

I enjoyed listening to Appalachian Song. It's a beautiful story with great characters and narration. Adoption is a part of my life so the emotions so well told in this story spoke to me. Also the part of a birthmoms' love for their child needs telling and understanding. And a little love story woven in is sweet. I appreciate that the book is clean of bad language and inappropriate romance. Definitely recommend.

Well told story

The topic of adoption is not woven into our literature near enough. A beautiful tale that represents each part of the adoption triangle in a respectful manner is heartening. And yes, adoption is very much a part of the Lord‘s plan for many children. It is time that our society and our church step up and embrace the elements of this beautiful story

I enjoyed this book very much. I enjoyed that it was written more or less after a family that was brought up in Appalachia

I LOVED this story❣️ from a daughter of a Kentucky bootlegger who did go legal when the town turned wet 🙏 and a mother who got pregnant also at the age of 14. By the grace of God my mom allowed me to choose what I wanted to do about my situation and that was to have my baby. My daddy was not happy but he loved his grandson dearly and they both helped me in raising my son until I got old enough to do it on my own.

One of the best stories I’ve ever listened to!!! Loved the story and felt like I knew these characters and felt there pain and joy. Expertly narrated as well. I recommend this book very highly, especially for the Christian listeners!!!

Wish I could give 10 stars!

Great story line filled with reality, hope, love, history, and mountain based religious faith. Being from the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains I can relate to old mountain cabins with no electricity. Would love to see this story continue !!

A beautiful story; well written and very well read. A new author for me and I look forward to hearing more of her stories. I have always been drawn to stories about the Appalachia but they all involved women with special abilities or ghosts. This story is special, heart renching with the storyline weaving a beautiful lace pattern.

Great characters, story line, & narrator

The accents were bad, the writing (outside of heavy handed religious references) was very good! I can’t tell if the author is pro or anti adoption though. If you don’t like religious types stories, I’d skip this book. I can take or leave Christianity personally so I was able to push through it and enjoyed the whole story. I think all audio books by this company are going to be heavily religious so I will most likely skip them in the future but I don’t regret listening to this book

Overly religious & mixed messages towards adoption
