About this listen

December 1944. As German forces launch a massive surprise attack through the frozen Ardennes Forest, two snipers find themselves aiming for a rematch. Caje Cole is a backwoods hunter from the Appalachian Mountains of the American South, while Kurt Von Stenger is the deadly German "Ghost Sniper".

Having been in each other's crosshairs before, they fight a final duel during Germany's desperate attempt to turn the tide of war in what will come to be known as the Battle of the Bulge. Can the hunter defeat the marksman? Even in the midst of war, some battles are personal.

Very enjoyable

I really enjoyed this book, it’s a WW2 based book, I don’t like how geography and timelines were mixed to speed the book up, it’s a very possible and based off real events. I give it a solid 4 stars because I liked it and ghost sniper!

I was given this book by the author for an unbiased review

Ardennes Sniper is Fantastic

David Healey has done it again. The climatic conclusion between the personal war between the German Ghost Sniper and American sniper Cole is riveting. Great story wrapped around the Battle of the Bulge.

Sniper warfare at its best

Fictionalized escapades of a sniper squad in WW2. The author delivers you right into the trenches, trees, rubble that is the territory of the sniper. It is reminiscent of the famous duel between Russian and German snipers in Stalingrad that was fictionalized in war of the rays and the movie enemy’s the gates. This is the 2nd installment and was absolutely amazing. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

A terrific second book in the Battle of Precision

My Grandfather was a Canadian sniper in the second world war. Listening to this series, brought me great insight into the life of a sniper during the war.

Scott Bennett is a talented narrator, who is able to do German and Russian accents among various others. His narration brings this story to life and the fear and emotions that the characters feel, the reader can feel as well.

I listened to this story in chunks in the car, as the story is war and the death and destruction is heavy and emotional for the reader.

The author assembled quite the amazing cast of characters especially the American side. The German sniper was a force to be extinguished but he was called the Ghost Sniper for a reason.

Excellent suspense, some historical truths, a touch of romance and a captivating narration make this book and the series a hit for this reader.

Really love this

This story is a delightful story filled with danger, thrills, excitement, a touch of romance, humor that makes you laugh out loud, sorrow, pain, anger, you name it you will find it between these lines. I found things to do so I could listen to more at a time. I was so pulled in that I found I had trouble putting it down. Between the author and narrator I had no trouble picking the story unfold in my mind, it was almost like I was there.

The narrator did a wonderful job of narration he put feeling into the audio. His voice is very powerful, clear and pleasant to listen to. There are no background noises or any volume changes His tones are very even he never leaves you guessing how the character feels. He gives you a very clear rich audio that you do not want to put down. The male voices are as pleasant as his female voices. You never have any trouble knowing who is talking or just what is on their mind. He uses the correct tones with each character just as I pictured them to be. He chuckles when he needs to or shows sorrow through his voice. He really brought this story to life for me, I had no trouble watching in my mind as his voice smoothed over me making this almost like a movie. He made me feel what each character was going through, at time I held my breath waiting to see what was going to happen next. The narrator has a knack to reach into you mind, pulling on your heartstrings and gibing you a highly entertaining listen. I really enjoyed his voice and could listen to it all day with no problem. Mr. Bennett has become one of my favorite narrators I know when I see his name I am going to be taken away and truly enjoy the listen.

The author gives you a believable story that is highly entertaining as well as pull on your heartstrings, he makes you laugh, want to cry and even sigh, I really enjoyed watching these snipers play at their game of chest, holding my breath to see which one would die and who would live. It was very emotional, and sad but the men feel real joking with each other but getting right back to business. I can’t tell you how well this author and narrator blend so well together, and how much I enjoyed this story. I am off to start the next one in the series.

Trilling WWII sniper story

This is an thrilling story of WWII snipers during the fighting in the Ardennes. Cole is the talented hillbilly sniper that we first met in the book “Ghost Snipper,” he and his small band of fellow US snipers encounter Hitler’s last ditch effort to turn the war back to his favour through a sneak invasion. Along with Panzer tanks and soulless SS soldiers, he also once again crosses paths and bullets with his German nemesis, the sniper known as the Ghost. The story is told through the eyes of the two sniper protagonists and you can not help but feel some empathy for them both as they continue their cat and mouse game of death. The narrator did a great job, giving the characters individual voices and personalities, he kept his intonation calm, mirroring the feel and mind of a sniper. The cruelty and mindless horror of war comes through clearly, as does the way the snipers distance their emotions and mind so they are able to kill over and over again. It is a enthralling, well written and narrated story that is scattered with historical facts, has great characters and leaves images in your mind that you will not soon forget.
