Publisher's summary

The Charted Systems are in pieces. Mercy's Pledge is destroyed, and her captain dead. With no homes to return to, the remaining crew sets off on a journey to find the mythical planet of Ardulum - a planet where Emn might find her people, and Neek the answers she's long sought. Finding the planet, however, brings a host of uncomfortable truths about Ardulum's vision for the galaxy and Neek's role in a religion that refuses to release her. Neek must balance her planet's past and the unchecked power of the Ardulans with a budding relationship and a surprising revelation about her own genealogy.

Ardulum: Second Don blends space opera elements and hard science into a story about two women persistently bound to their past and a sentient planet determined to shape their future.

Second Don!

I couldn’t put the book down. I felt as if I was in the story living through the experiences of the characters with them. I was very impressed with the plot because it kept moving so that you don’t feel like your mind is wondering elsewhere.
Lynn Norris creates an unique picture through her writing that makes you feel as if you’re right there.
I definitely recommend this book.
I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

My head is still spinning

So many revelations in this book. This was my second reading and I am still blown away by how JS Field can assemble this universe, tear it apart and put it back together again.

So many cool concepts about how a universe can be. An education in non-binary pronouns. several religions. Big and small wars.

This is book two of an all encompassing mind bending universe where it is easy to see how power and tradition can crush the others, unless the heroes stand up for everyone.

fun take on creating gods

I liked it overall, good space opera.
The MC? Hard to align actions with age. She is 30 and worried over holding hands. It took to whole books for a first kiss.
But overall, liked it. I'll buy the next in the series.

Still excellent

As I said for Ardulum: First Don, I loved the book and am surprised to find it even better as an audiobook. In this second book in the trilogy, the romance is picking up but still at a very very slow pace. Which could be infuriating but I find it rather exciting, and coherent with the fact that there's so much happening, it makes sense Atalant and Emn would need to process stuff. And I love who Nicholas is becoming, he's much more interesting than I first thought. I started audiobook 3 right away and, after she did such a great job with other species, including trees, I can't wait to hear the narrator's take on fungi…

Good addition to the series

This is a good addition to the series. I will say that I found it a little more complex to follow than the first book. There were more characters and a lot more diversity in what was happening and the overall goal of the main cast. I enjoyed it, though.
