About this listen
Betrayed by the one she most trusts, Gwendolyn must now find a way to defeat the Fae King, alone… To do that she must remember what she has forgotten. But time is running out, and the odds are rising against her and even The Fates appear to favor a cruel king, whose reign began with the end of all she holds dear. Arise the Queen is the exciting conclusion of the Goldenchild Prophecy.

Story
Said to be a changeling child left to the King and Queen of Cornwall, Gwendolyn is "blessed" at her cradle by three Fae gifts: a prophecy for her future, a gift of "Reflection," and a golden mane-quite literally, every lock of her hair will turn to gold, only provided it is cut by her one true love. Yet no one understands more than Gwendolyn that her blessings are actually curses. Any man who gazes upon her will see his own heart reflected in her countenance, and depending upon his virtue, she is the loveliest woman in all the land… or the most hideous.

Story
The king's magnificent palace was built in a matter of weeks. No one saw the builders, no villagers are allowed beyond the gilded gate, and only one servant has ever left. The haunted look in her eyes as she was recaptured by the palace guards is something Josie, daughter of the village doctor, has never forgotten. For Josie, the palace is a mystery that grows more intriguing after she meets the captain of the guards, a man known only as Hammer, as mysterious and captivating as the palace itself. Whispers of magic fuel Josie's desire to uncover the truth, but an ordinary girl like her can only dream of ever being invited inside.

Thank you so much for writing such a wonderful book. It’s been so long since I really connected with a novel like this. The love story was so refreshing and touched me deeply. I cried so much in the last chapters. What a beautiful ending and story.

Both long winded and rushed, a hodge podge of half-baked ideas
The writing for this one felt more childish than the others. Maybe that's not the right word but it felt like I was inside a 13year Olds brain as she tries to navigate an Alice in wonderland-esqueci experience for 10+ chapters. It was too much! It got boring, and made me get extremely annoyed by Gwendolyn and her child-like inner monologue. It was so slow and drawn out, then you get to the end and everything is super rushed. It wasn't satisfying in the least and felt like significantly lower quality than the other books. I honestly wish I'd just read the last chapter because it was enough to get everything that happened in the entire book without having wasted 6hours of my life on it. The merging of druids and king Arthur legends and Greek myths and elves and humans in Brittania, it was just too much and none of it properly developed so they felt half baked. Don't recommend.
