About this listen
From the number one New York Times and USA Today best-selling author of the Rosemary Beach and The Vincent Boys series, Abbi Glines delivers another smoldering, compulsively readable YA romance with As She Fades.
On the night of her high school graduation, Vale McKinley and her boyfriend, Crawford, are in a terrible car accident that leaves Crawford in a coma. They were supposed to spend the summer planning for college, for a bright future full of possibility. Together. Instead, Vale spends long days in the hospital, hoping Crawford will awaken.
Slate Allen, a college friend of Vale's brother, has been visiting his dying uncle at the same hospital. When he and Vale meet, she can't deny the flutter of an illicit attraction. She tries to ignore her feelings, but she's not immune to Slate's charm. Slowly, they form a cautious friendship.
Then, Crawford wakes up...with no memory of Vale or their relationship. Heartbroken, Vale opts to leave for college and move on with her life. Except now she's in Slate's territory, and their story is about to take a very strange turn.
Glines' millions of fans will adore As She Fades, a novel as romantic as it is full of twists and unexpected turns.

It all belongs to their son, who doesn't seem to like his mother at all.

But Gran left a list of things she needed Henley to do after she died, and fulfilling those wishes means spending a summer in the same place her mom fled from when she was only seventeen years old. Story
Hughes Farm was the largest racing-horse establishment in the South. The family that owned it was known to be wealthy, powerful, arrogant, and terrifying. My first encounter with them didn’t prepare me for all that was to come. I don’t think anything truly could have. Growing up with only my father and brother hadn’t been easy, but we’d had each other. Losing them was the hardest thing I’d ever faced. It had made the times we went without food, electricity, or even shelter seem insignificant in comparison.

Pine River was supposed to be a new start for me. And it was, especially attending school with my three overprotective cousins, who were the triplets at the top of the social hierarchy. Except they weren’t alone there, and the first day when I came to school, I saw him. Scout Raiden. Tall. Lean. Tattooed. Mesmerizing. He was a golden god with dark and piercing eyes—looking like he wanted to eat me up. The feeling was mutual, and that was a problem.

The first time I met Winter Marks, I almost took her out with my Jeep. To be fair, she came out of nowhere. I flirted with her, and she flipped me off and disappeared into the woods on her bike. But she left me a souvenir: a single hockey skate. Seemed to me that divine intervention shouldn’t be ignored. She was my icy Cinderella, and I would be her Prince Not-So-Charming. Winter was more than just a sassy, badass hockey-playing hottie. She’s stuck in a prison of a life. And I’m the perfect escape. Neither of us expected to fall. Or for the truth to shatter us.

It was Ok
I have been pretty hard on previous Abbi Glines reads as they have been pretty hit or miss for me. I was really hesitant to go into this one, but I decided to give it a try. I really loved part of one. I was really enjoying the budding romance between Slate and Vale. I enjoyed the college aspect between the two. I thought this was going to be predictable, but I was not expecting part two to be what it was. Part two was good, but I wish this would have kept the pace and direction from part one. I felt it was all a little rushed. It also make you take a step back from the romance that I was loving in part one. It all ended and I just wanted more. Overall, this was pretty good but still did not blow me away. Part one was 4 stars, but part two brought it down to around three stars!

Good twist
I’m not a huge fan of the coma love triangle trope but I am a huge fan of Abbi Glines.

Good twist
It kept me interested all the way through, like all her books do. I just didn't like where it ended. The ending left me a little disatisfied.

A little confusing with this one.
I agree with the other reviews. The plot twist was completely unnecessary. It’s almost as if the author put down her writing and picked it up a long while later and just didn’t check where she left off. I don’t understand it. If I had known the book would have taken that turn I wouldn’t have gotten it. Also. Where was the part where Crawford didn’t remember her??
I liked the Vale and Slate story. She should have just really stuck with that.

As She Fades
I got sucked in because one it is Abbi Glines and two she has a way of sucking you in. I really wasn’t sure what was going on, but I will tell you to keep on listening because all will be revealed!
I was getting to a point in the story where I didn’t like Vale very much and I did just not understand what in the world she was doing. But then I keep on listening and BAM you finally get it.
I liked the family feel to this book and how they all look out for each other, made my heart oh so happy.
This isn’t like Abbi’s other books but I think that might be why I enjoyed it, it was new and exciting and I have more Abbi book to go so I better get on it.
It took a little bit of getting used to Emily’s narration she sounds very young and I wasn’t sure I was going to like it but she matches what Vale seems like in my head. So once I got used to it I like it. Eric does a great job.

Great but the ending was short
Hate books that just end without epilogue... seems a waste. Other then that great book.

Abby Glines I love the twists
I have read many of Abby’s books. I really appreciate the plot twists! I have other authors I really like but gotta say Abby’s one of my favorites because not everything is predictable! Sometimes, it comes at ya from left field.

You'll Either Love it or Hate it....
I happened to Love this Book... I was Floored and Shocked with The Plot Twist. I 100% did not see it coming. It is the First Time that all my Guesses leading up to the twist didn't even come close to what happened.
The friendship made between the characters and the Love Between Vale and Slate was proof of how Powerful The Mind and Heart are. I am really having a hard time finding the words to say because it would just give it away. so my parting words will be Encrypted... Vale and Slate's connection was the only thing Real!

Different
This book is different from the other books I’ve read by Abbi but just as enjoyable!! There’s twist in this story you won’t anticipate.
