About this listen

"I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of the God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek." Romans 1:16

With this verse, John MacArthur begins to remind us of C. H. Spurgeon's warning in 1800's England. "Everywhere there is apathy. Nobody cares whether that which is preached is true or false. A sermon is a sermon whatever the subject; only, the shorter it is the better."

Until all that changes, until we return to our calling to go into all the world and preach the Gospel without shame, the Church is in danger of losing its impact on society. And that would be our generation's greatest loss.

Every Pastor should read / listen

This book sheds a vital light on the church as it stands today. I do not adhere to the tenants of reformed theology yet would still give this book to people who lead.

excellent analysis of today's gospel message

John MacArthur just celebrated his 50 years of Christian ministry as Pastor Bible teacher. His insights in ministry and command of church history are on full display in this book. I want to shout hallelujah for the gospel of Jesus Christ, the wisdom of God and the salvation by His wonderous Grace.

A TIMELY WORD FOR THE CHURCH

This was an excellent book and the narrator did a terrific job as well. This is such a necessary word for believers in this day and age.

It is Difficult to dislike the Truth!!!

Very good and logical methods to determine if the church or your church is headed in the Biblical direction. As with audio, difficult to take notes, especially when driving.

Gospel Truth

Sue Lupinetti
The Gospel is the key to Christianity. He pointed this out in so many ways. The church has become so diluted, weak and seeker friendly. Also loved the Charles Spurgeon quotes. John MacArthur is right on.

Good for the most part...

John did well explaining the scriptures in most places. However, his theology concerning the sovereignty of God and the responsibility of people is certainly skewed by his Calvinistic view.
