Hill’s Narration and Blake’s character depth

Hill’s narration brings all of Blake’s varied characters to life. Great to have 4 stories in a bundle. We need Hill back to record #5 & 6 to close out the series.

Love Dick Hill

Listening to Dick Hill it’s like visiting with an old friend. I love his voice, and I enjoy any story that he narrates. Exciting story line, I look forward to listening to other stories in the series.

A Little Too Violent

Although Mexico’s drug-based economy certainly was depicted with authenticity, some of the violence was hard to get through. Some of the violence did not really advance the story. Dick Hill’s performance, however, never disappoints.

Enjoyed Listening

All listening for me is while driving.. Kept me occupied for my hour long commute. Kept me tuned into the story. Enjoyed listening. Kind of liked and hated El Ray all the way thru.

Just “Ok”

First, the performance was not great, I’m the narrator has a great voice but I do not think this was the performance he was best suited for with his Spanish accents and annunciation left me confused at times. Second, the story was at times hard to follow and never gripped me. The first book in the series was by far the best and descriptions in general were great but then I’d be lost almost immediately trying to find out what’s happening. I’m not angry that I purchased this but I would not recommend it wholeheartedly.

A very in-depth novel

Although the novel provided many hours of good entertainment, I felt that the action was a little slow and drawn out. The plot was intriguing, the end not so surprising. The narrator did a right handsome job and in the end I was satisfied that the novel was worth the credit expended.

Action personified

I have listened to all four books one after another. How is it that one would wish for the best for a cold blooded killer? Well done Mr Blake! On to the next one.

Amazing series.

I started this set out as the author suggested by reading book 21 and then going back to book one at the end. Book number one really is the prequel to the series the Assassin. I loved the series as you watch El Ray become a hero to those less fortunate. The series definitely left you wanting more, Action packed.

I’m not a prude but…

No wonder they sold me 4 books for the price of one. I love reading this genre, but this author goes into gruesome descriptions, going on and on with hideous murders, and gruesome descriptions of the worst treatments. He goes into detail on raping children, children murdering their parents: far beyond making a point to further the story.
I wouldn’t be surprised to know that several narrators refused to tell these stories.
