HPLHS on audible

These have the feel of old time radio shows, I got a lot of them on CD back in the day and lost them over the years, they are well done, the cast has done their homework and if you like Lovecraft HPLHS is a must have for your listening enjoyment.

Fantastic as always

A great rendition of one of the best short horror stories. Though I do with the audio was a bit cleaner. It’s sometimes thought to hear the speakers and sometimes characters who are right next to each other sound like they are communicating through tin cans. But all that aside it’s a fantastic listen and well worth the couple of bucks.

A Fun Romp

This book was a fun romp. I loved the classic 1930's radio show format, complete with commercials for cigarettes. It entertained me. What stands out is the love of the H. P. Lovecraft Historical Society for this genius in one of his greatest works.

fantastic, but..

let me say this was super fun to listen to. I have heard all kinds of reading for lovecraft but this one was the most engaging. The only issue I had was that I couldn't hear the narrator very well in the beginning thanks to the sound effects. Other wise this was phenomenal and a must listen!

Great dramatization!!!

I think this was the first production of Dark Adventure and its amazing! Unlike many modern productions of Lovecraft's work this is not campy or silly. It's a faithful dramatization of the story that goes beyond just listening to someone read the book. The news broadcasts give it a realistic feel in the same vein as Orson Wells production of War of the Worlds. Fans of Lovecraft and/or old time radio will love this!

Great Teaser

The story felt like it was the middle of a good book
I would've loved it more if it could have had a solid beginning and end. Just all around more of a story.
