About this listen

Nazzario Da Lima, affectionately known as "The Baby Coach," shares her highly effective sleep-training method in this step-by-step guide to let both baby and parent enjoy long, peaceful nights. Full of common sense and specific tips, the Baby Coach's plan offers time- and family-tested techniques to help any baby up to the age of 18 months who has trouble sleeping through the night.

Developed initially for newborn multiples, this sleep-training method worked so well with twins and triplets that families with singletons and older babies began asking Suzy to share her recipe for success, resulting in regular feeding times, 12 hours' sleep at night, three hours' sleep during the day, peace of mind for parent and baby, and less strain on parents - and their marriage. This edition includes a new chapter on implementing the program with babies up to 18 months.

Disappointed

A lot of general information but not much specifics about sleep training. Narrator's reading is difficult to comprehend.

Not worth listening to

First, I will say that different cultures will always have different thoughts on raising children. And that is never a bad thing. However this book constantly mentions co-sleeping with infants or even infants and their siblings, and this has been proven time and time again to be dangerous and significantly increase the odds of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

Beyond that, only the metric system is used, which is not easily understood for US readers. There were numerous colloquialisms and sayings that did not translate into English at all. And the author continually referred to the baby as "it" which put a bad taste in my mouth. The book starts with half an hour on what sleep is to adults which made no sense to me for a book on what I thought was about infant sleep training.

I listened to the whole thing and really only got one takeaway. Be consistent. Set up a routine and stick to it. And make sure the routine you make is do-able. That's it. Don't waste your time.

Don't recommend

Sort of hard to understand/follow for language differences (I speak English in the US) Also never really gave me great tips for getting baby to sleep before age 6 months and even then it was the obvious stuff like keeping a routine.

Misleading title

This book focuses on many different ages. It is not exclusively about babies. It should be titled something else so you get what you're looking for.
