About this listen

This book is intended to be a practical guide to using the modern science of attachment and relationships to guide the questioning toward a more fulfilling life.

If you were brought up in the Western world, you've been trained on fairy tales of love and relationships that are misleading at best, and at worst have you making mistake after mistake in starting relationships with the wrong kinds of people who will waste your time and keep you from finding a loyal partner. Science has the answer! Or at least a guide to save you the time and effort of discovering for yourself how many wrong types of romantic partners there are.

Reading this book will help you recognize the signs of some of the syndromes that prevent people from being good partners. We'll go through those syndromes and point out some of the signs. Those little red flags you sometimes notice when you are getting to know someone? Often they speak loud and clear once you understand the types, and you can decide immediately to run away or approach with caution those who show them.

This book outlines the basics (which might be all you need), and points you toward more resources if you want to understand more about your problem partner. If you're wondering if the guy or girl you've been hanging out with might not be quite right, this is the place to match those little red flags you've noticed with known bad types. And by getting out fast, you can avoid emotional damage and wasted time, and get going on finding someone who's really right for you. Study all of the bad types and you'll detect them before even getting involved. Or you could be one of the few people who recognizes their own problems in one of these types. There are study materials and plans of action for you, too. If you've had lots of relationships and they all seem to go wrong, the common factor is you! Your task is to make yourself into a better partner - a goal that even the most evolved of us can always work toward.

Captivating Book describing Attachment Styles

First book I've finished on Audible... captivating! This book describes many of my relationship struggles. Next, the author could write a book on how to resolve these traumas/ energy dynamics on your own (aside from therapy). Great book, thanks!

sex biased

I've listened to this and the book he wrote afterwards called dismissive avoidant. the second book he complains about people complaining this book contains misogyny. I relistened to both book. In chapter 31, he stayed that little girls are brought up believing they are pampered princesses and little boys are just trying to get their bearings. that IS what people were complaining about. if he wanted to add an equivalent to this type of pampered princesses, he could have said some little boys are raised to believe it is the woman's job to cook and clean. this is common in dismissive avoidant men. the most important thing should have been explained how SOME girls are brought up that way and SOME boys are. the second book it's clear he has disain for women because he seemed actually angry about the outcome of two very public domestic violence situations. he was angry the woman kicking jz didn't get in more trouble and that it's because women get away with more. that is misogyny. I wanted to love both these book but it's hard to take advice from someone with so much muas they included it in their published books

Attachment theory - bad boyfriends

Everyone should have a better understanding of their own attachment characteristics, how to strive to work through any insecure attachment to become secure, and know the warning signs of those who are not good for them. Jeb has clearly spent much time in this area and I appreciate his outlook on the matter.

Wish I Would Have Read This as a Young Person

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to improve their dating patterns. The information is the cold hard truth and has opened my eyes to red flag realities.

Great book to understand attachment styles

This is a great book to understand attachment styles but doesn’t give you a great direction on how to use some of the tools. It just gives you the understanding of what attachment styles are. I would recommend this book if you want more informatu

Great book and gives you a basic understanding

This book gives you a great understanding of attachment theory for newcomers. It also gives you a different perspective on things which really opened my mind. To dive into the subject deeper I suggest the book, "Attached." It will take things to the next level.
