Publisher's summary

A gripping thriller you won't be able to pause.

What's a woman to do when she finds her boyfriend with her best friend? It's simple! She leaves them, and she doesn't say anything about the small fortune that she just inherited.

Shelby Finn has had more than her fair share of trouble, but she thinks things are about to change for the better. Unfortunately, she couldn't be more wrong.

Willy Finn, Shelby's estranged felon of a father, has left her a small fortune after he and his associates are found murdered in the desert.

With her newfound wealth, Shelby leaves her troubled past in search of a new beginning. Her beginning starts at the small blue beach house at Pensacola Beach, where she and her parents once lived. When Shelby arrives at the beach house after a long and dangerous road trip, she discovers that Old Blue, as Shelby calls it, needs a lot of TLC.

Shelby's only problem is that the men who knew her father think she's got their money. They want it back, and they will do anything to get it.

Shelby's on the run, but she doesn't know it. Fortunately for her, the handsome stranger following her does, and he's not about to let anything happen to her, even if it costs him his own life.

Great

Great story the characters drew me in. Love this author, and the fact that I cannot listen to audiobooks with some of his titles.

Plenty of Action!

This is the second book of I’ve read from Michael Merson (the other is Heartbeats of a Killer) and I’ve noticed a pattern. Mr Merson is not afraid to load his books with action. Despite the length of the book, something was constantly happening. I didn’t feel like any part of the book was slow or boring. It was engage throughout! Definitely worth spending a few hours listening to.

Great story of what happens after a heist

This tale is set years after a big score. The unlikely and likable men did their time in prison, are out and now it’s time to get the money they hid away. Things don’t go the way they planned of course and the adventure begins. It’s a fairly straightforward story with a few twists I didn’t see coming but they were well plotted, not weird twists simply for the sake of confusing the reader.
This was a relatively short book and I thought I could finish it on a road trip. That wasn’t the case. With a half hour left, I couldn’t let it go over the weekend. Had to finish it!
The narrator was fantastic. She had a distinct set of voices for each character and none of them sounded silly or cartoonish. Highly recommended if you want a quick read with a satisfying conclusion.

Great read

This was an excellent read with great narration. Definitely the best narration I’ve heard yet with audible. The story line kept my attention and the ending was great. I’ll definitely be reading more books by this author.
