Publisher's summary

Filled with magic and fierce emotion, Lisa Jensen's multilayered novel will make you question all you think you know about beauty, beastliness, and happily ever after.

They say Château Beaumont is cursed. But servant-girl Lucie can’t believe such foolishness about handsome Jean-Loup Christian Henri LeNoir, Chevalier de Beaumont, master of the estate. But when the chevalier's cruelty is revealed, Lucie vows to see him suffer. A wisewoman grants her wish, with a spell that transforms Jean-Loup into monstrous-looking Beast, reflecting the monster he is inside.

But Beast is nothing like the chevalier. Jean-Loup would never patiently tend his roses; Jean-Loup would never attempt poetry; Jean-Loup would never express remorse for the wrong done to Lucie. Gradually, Lucie realizes that Beast is an entirely different creature from the handsome chevalier, with a heart more human than Jean-Loup’s ever was.

Lucie dares to hope that noble Beast has permanently replaced the cruel Jean-Loup - until an innocent beauty arrives at Beast’s château with the power to break the spell.

A different view on the classic story

You will meet Lucy, she is a servant for Master Beaumont. Master has done a terrible thing to Lucy and she seeks revenge. With the help from an old woman in the forest, they put an enchantment on the estate, including Lucy. How will this enchantment be broken, and how will there be a happily ever after for anyone? You will have to read to find out.

Except for a disturbing scene in the beginning, this was a fun new twist on the classic story. Here the story from a new point of view.

All around disappointed

The performance is juvenile and the story reads as if written for a school project.

Big Spoiler Alert!!

Ok i am heavily saddened by this book. I am in love of all versions of beauty and the beast so i was expecting greatness. But i was horrified by the sixth chapter. HE RAPES HER!!! I have no idea how you can romanticize rape but it is and even more she gets with him?!? This was incredibly inappropriate for a book and i wish someone was there to say something to me besides "he does something bad to her"! Like what the heck! I am so angry and upset as that is a very sensitive topic for me, and is a reason i love reading romance instead of having one myself. I just do not understand at all what the writer was trying to do. And so because he is "handsome" he can go and mercilessly rape a girl and then get together with her in the end? I couldn't even finish the book and almost threw my phone. Im sad because i had so many hopes for this book as i have been thinking of getting it for a while. In all honesty it was traumatizing for me and i had a bit of a break down. Im sorry for the rant and im sure the writer had a cute or somewhat romantic story but i feel it was completely missed by that one thing, i mean holy crap, couldnt it be something like he kept firing her or something, but instead he makes fun of her, forces himself on her and then laughs about it. So disappointing!
