Good general book on Dealing with Asthma

I really needed to read this book. I wish I had him for my MD. I work at and am a patient of a large Midwestern hospital system that has one or two brief meetings with an MD and then hands me off to a series of PAs who try prescription set A and then when I say it isn't working, bad side affects, they shift me to set B.
I read all the reviews before buying this book. I wanted reliable evidence based information and this book was what I needed. I could tell most of the negative reviews were from people who would prefer quak new-age cure-alls.

hated it

hated it when I get small content which repeated
over and over. reaching this book means I need help other than just take the medication and going to doctors.
