Charlie and Sean

This story is amazing. It touches on some very real life issues as well as tells a great story. I will definitely recommend this book. Narration was good as well.

A masterpiece of writing and narration

Melissa Moran has nailed it again. Her vocal changes hit in every place I do in my mind when reading. It was pure joy to close my eyes and listen to one of my favorite Haigwood stories. I have to say 'one of' because each one is better than the one before. I would be hard put to choose one book as a favorite, but a series? Charlie and Sean's stories are the current choice.

So many subjects are covered in this book (PTSD, war injury, emotional manipulation, and more) that reading was both enthralling and at times, painful. I grew up during the VietNam war and clearly remember news casts showing rows of flag-draped caskets coming off the planes. I remember seeing the dark green car pulling up across the street and someone's mother collapsing. That Charlie's dad was injured and not killed was still traumatic. Sgt Mason's PTSD was voiced with a deftness that has to be heard to be appreciated.

When Charlie is accidentally injured as a direct result of her father's PTSD, Moran had me in tears. I've read the book; I know what's coming. That didn't help. My chest grew tight. I clenched my fist and rode it out.

I enjoyed this audio book so much I listened twice before finally writing the review. Moran gives you everything you could want in a narrator. It goes without saying that Kristie Haigwood does the same as an author.

Great work ladies! 5 stars.

Once you start, you can't stop!

LOVED this book. I'm a sucker for romance and this couple displays what everyone dreams of having, but few are lucky enough to have. Amidst the romance, the author so skillfully depicted current social issues. It was impossible to predict the twists and turns this story would take as I read/listened along. I particularly appreciated how she addressed mental health concerns as well.

Another great book

This was a fabulous second book. The characters are well thought out, so much so that it could be a friend or family member. I highly recommend this series. Don’t scroll pass.

So sad it’s over

Love Charlie and Sean! Charlie and Sean went through so much during this book. Highs lows more highs more lows it was a crazy roller coaster ride of emotions and I loved every minute of it. So sad to see it end but loved every minute of it

Loved it!

I loved this sweet story. The book deals with real life issues and struggles so it was easy to get lost in the story. Charlie and Sean are such great characters, and I found myself rooting for them to overcome all the challenges they faced. The narration was excellent as well. I’d highly recommend this book!

Becoming a great 5 star story

This story picks up shortly after part one ends. It’s a great YA story . How Charlie is growing up . The author Kristie seems she put herself in a teens shoes or remembers what it felt like and wrote the next part .
Heroine is Charlie Hero is Sean
Charlie won’t know if what she’s seeing is real, a memory or a make believe story in her head . She’s at Sean’s house with his dad when she thinks her mind is playing tricks on her . The memory is about her brother accident . Charlie can’t take anymore so she takes off to go to her house . Growing up is turning her world upside down. If it’s not one thing it’s another.

Melissa Moran performance was great. She did justice to this story . Her voice is smooth and strong
