Great book

This book was very interesting but the narrator was awful! I stopped listening to the book because I was beyond bored with Jeffrey Hopkins. I will read the book instead of listening to it.

Perfect, if you do this…

Great content, great performance. However, if you speed the narrative up to 1.3x it makes the reading MUCH better. I keep it at 1.0x speed if I’m listening at night and want to fall asleep.

Great Spiritual Guide

This is an amazing book. It think it was well presented and a valuable spiritual tool. It is not for the beginer though. Be aware that it is full of spiritual advise and knowledge but it may be advanced for the beginer. I loved it!

As always excellent material from His Holiness the Dali Llama

Great book for anyone wanting a concise understanding of the essentials of Buddhism. An easy read but should not be neglected and one would be wise to review the material.

Not for a beginner

I had bought this book based on my desire to learn more about His Holiness. I am not familiar with him nor am I familiar with his teachings. I found this books lesson a bit too advanced (far reaching) for me as I have no foundation or connection with his teachings. For someone who is familiar with the teachings or is engage with this religion, then it may be a good book. Further, the author/reader brings nothing to the book. If the reader intended to be boring and uninspiring, then he succeeds. I struggled to listen partly because of the monotone readings. Again, if this was the readers intent in collaboration with the style of teachings, then he succeeded.
If you are in tune with the Holiness, its probably a great book. But if this will be your first experience, I suggest another book read by another narrator.
