Bloodcurdling Adventure

Gayne Young delivers a heart-pounding, action-packed adventure inside the Sumatra rainforest. The discoveries by a renowned archeologist in the 1930s include far more than old bones and pottery, with terrifying results delivered rapid-fire. Each word in this horrifying story is selected to describe the environment, characters, and animals completely without waste. There is no doubt that an eight-foot beast, with rust-colored fur, over eight hundred pounds with three-inch yellow fangs, exhaling putrid breath shouldn’t be provoked.

Jack Taylor, professional tiger hunter, is a tough, unforgiving, no-nonsense man. He deals with gang leaders, thieves, and wild animals in the same manner—to win. The untamed region of Sumatra calls part-time hunters, scientists, and explorers to visit, which cultivates greed and power struggles. Each character has an agenda with interactions driving superb storytelling through unexpected threads entwined to keep readers and listeners engaged.

Kevin Perkins delivers a flawless narration with distinctive voices for each of the deliciously complex characters who venture into the perilous unknown, armed and dangerous. Listeners are taken on a wild, non-stop adventure with various deadly encounters vividly described in grisly, primeval terms. The pace, tone, and perfect pauses engross readers in the story alongside the characters.

Fans of unexpected action and adventure wishing for an unexpected thrill will stay on the edge of their seat with the revelations found inside Bigfoot: The Sumatra Encounter. Are Gigantopithecus black still hiding and thriving in Indonesia? I highly recommend listening or reading to make your own decision.

Intensely Terrifying!

What do a professional tiger hunter, a warlord’s army, a beautiful woman, and a missing archeologist have in common? They all share the rainforest of Sumatra and an evil unknown entity that massacres freely.

Gayne Young, the author, takes his listeners on another wild, action-packed ride into the Sumatra and tantalizes us with the deadly, unknown entity. He utilizes action, situation, and dialogue to develop his characters instead of solely relying on descriptions and backstory filler. Each character’s personality is described accurately through these tools. The storyline flows smoothly and while plot twists are expected he still manages to throw his listeners a curveball!

The narrator, Kevin Perkins, is magnificent! He assumes each character fully and immerses his listeners deeply into the storyline. His tonal inflections and consistent voices are authentic and delivered in a steady style. His voice is compelling and mesmerizing.

This is an exciting book that one cannot put down or wait for the next in the series. Fans of cryptology have their dream come true!
