Publisher's summary

Three love stories, three heroes, and one daring rescue.

Former crown prince, Aaron Sayid, abandons his playboy lifestyle to meet his third cousin, Felicia, who’s convinced they were meant to be together after seeing him on television, despite a language barrier and living on different continents.

When Aaron and Felicia stumble upon a human trafficking ring near the border town between Guatemala and Belize, they call upon their mutual cousin, Army Captain Henry Stephenson. He promptly falls head-over-heels with the tireless humanitarian aid volunteer Whitney, and ends up trapped on the wrong side of enemy lines.

Only through the bravery of Army Airborne Captain Monroe Cohen are they able to free the hostages, stop a civil war, and overturn a dictator. The only thing Monroe’s not brave enough to do is stay away from the beautiful and mysterious Lieutenant Brianna Turner, his team’s army intelligence analyst who is completely off-limits.

Couldn’t stop listening

This narrator was very good at doing different types of voices whether it was stafe whispering or murmuring under his breath… I really enjoyed the story. It was a wonderful follow up after Crown Prince. Super excited for more. It took me a while to get to the point of life to be able to listen to this, but once I started I just simply couldn’t stop.

Great narrator!

I continue to be impressed with the way Steve is able to differentiate the voices of the many characters over a multi-book series! Fantastic!

The Sayid Saga continues

Book two in the Royal Family Saga picked up with Aaron as a young adult getting a random phone call from South America. This is soon followed by meeting the caller, Felicia, and another "insta-love" is born. (She hadn't even met him yet. She called to meet him after seeing him on TV and deciding he was the one for her.) While I do believe in soulmates, I also believe that kind of love is rare and far between. Yet, in this series, every love connection is instant, which just doesn't ring true.

That aside, I really enjoyed the second two parts of this book. I'm a big fan of the work that Tim Ballard and his crew are doing to stop human trafficking, and this story is a fictionalized account of a similar scenario. In it, Mayan girls are being kidnapped from their home on a reservation and sold in Belize. Aaron's cousins are in the military and end up part of the task force responsible for locating and rescuing the girls.

I found the story to be riveting and couldn't wait to hear how it all turned out. I especially found the author's note at the end, sharing about Tim Ballard's work to be a nice finishing touch to the story.

Entertaining with a purpose

I enjoyed listening to this book. I felt this book was well written and you need to pay attention to the family relationship. The book had a serious matter discussed. It made me realize how much happens in fiction but also in every day living.

I do not think you will be disappointed listening.
