Publisher's summary

The truth will be revealed, whether they’re ready or not.

The firefight for the M-Bar’s valuable resources rages on in the post-apocalyptic madness, but the Standings are finally standing together...until secrets that Maxine has tried to keep buried come to light. And when they do, they threaten to severe the last tenuous strands holding the family together.

Reeling from betrayals that cut deeper than flying bullets, Josh Standing follows after his revenge-seeking father-in-law. He doesn’t seem to have much choice, as it seems the Standings are collapsing from within and there isn’t anything that can keep them together.

And then they hear of a new horror: People are being rounded up and systematically slaughtered or enslaved by a single man leading a train of carnage. He’s ruthless, he’s cunning - and now he has Storm Standing, too.

To save her family, Maxine will have to come face-to-face with her past and stand down her worst fears if she has any hope of stopping the man threatening her family.

Before her final secrets become the death of them all.

Prepper survivalist author Grace Hamilton invites you to step into a post-apocalyptic, EMP-ravaged world filled with strong, resourceful characters, survivalist knowledge, and edge-of-your seat action.

This novel contains violence.

Supernova Chaos Continues

'Bitter End' is the 3rd book of Grace Hamilton's 'Supernova EMP' series. It begins directly after the cliffhanger ending of Book 2. The Standings are in a battle for their lives at the M-Bar Ranch. Who will survive? What other dangers are in store?

I have listened to and enjoyed many of Grace Hamilton's EOTW books. In this series, Book 1 starts off very interestingly, with a unique take on a supernova explosion and the effect it has on people. Book 3, with its soap opera vibe, leaves me feeling disappointed. I'm hoping the next book resolves it quickly.

There is another stop-in-the-middle-of-the-scene cliffhanger (my number one pet peeve).

Aside from some odd word emphasis and cadence, Matt Weight's narration is good.

I received a free review copy of this audiobook and am now leaving my voluntary opinion of it.

Turning, he was shocked to see...

We enter volume two of this series amid a firefight at the Standing ranch. Resources are scarce and folks will resort to violence and murder to attain necessary supplies no matter whose they are. Josh Standing takes a controversial leave of absence to track down his father-in-law. In the meantime, a well-kept family secret takes precedence throughout most of volume three. Storm Standing’s parentage is in question which causes a variety of problems for the family, especially Storm who feels betrayed, considering changing alliances. Tension, twists, and turns keep you on the edge of your seat, as will the cliffhanger ending. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Book 3

I love any EMP books with good narration. Enjoy the characters of Josh and Maxine and their children Tally and Storm and all the action they need to survive and find out all the secrets. Cannot wait for book 4 to find out who Storm shoots. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. Thank you

Thrilling!

Bitter End, the third book in the Supernova EMP series, is well-plotted and the characters to be realistic and engaging. The premise follows a group of survivors, Maxine, and her family as they try to find their way and survive in a post-apocalyptic EMP world. The storyline is thrilling and action-packed, loaded with elements of revenge, secrets, slavery, ruthless antagonists, and unexpected twists.

Matt Weight's portrayal of the characters was excellent; he captured personalities, emotions, and intensity. I found Bitter End to be an entertaining listen, one I'll recommend. I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Twice bitten

This is the 2nd book in this series I've listened to and most likely will be the last. The reason is the author has the horrible habit of just stopping in the middle of an action sequence. I get that it's to help draw the user into the sequels, however this book served no real purpose but felt like thriller.

Cliff-hanger endings are great for between chapters, or episodic television shows but books should have at least some closure of the sub-plots brought up in that book, with advancement of the over-arching, larger plot being the thing that draws the readers back. I don't feel this particular series has a real over-arching plot or goals for the characters beyond survival, and so it's gotten stale.

The narration was on point, and well done, but simply couldn't save this title for me.

I received a copy of this book at my request in exchange for a fair review.

Ok read, bad narration

I received this book as a free offer. Not sure why the author would want someone to start at book 3 in a series instead of book 1, but this is what I got. The book is NOT its own story. If you haven’t read the preceding books the story line won’t make any sense. On top of that, the narrator constantly mispronounces words which further distracts from the storyline. Perhaps this book is better after having read the first two in the series, but this book is so bad I’ve lost interest in the author’s other works. Maybe it was a marketing effort gone bad, but this one is not worth the read.
