Publisher's summary

How can I say no to the Morrigan?

I am trying to be a better person. So when my friend, the Celtic Goddess of Death, asks me for help, I'm hesitant.

When we get together, death and mayhem always follow.

I agree reluctantly, and we start unraveling the mystery. To solve this case, we will have to travel to a murderous netherworld and rescue a talking dagger from the Goblin Queen.

And that's just the start of our wild adventures. The Morrigan will have to ride a mechanical bull to get a valuable clue too.

Start a new urban fantasy series that features interesting characters like a talking dagger, a courageous dragonfly, a blue-eyed werewolf, and a legendary wizard in a different light. This series is perfect for fans of Shayne Silvers, Linsey Hall, and McKenzie Hunter.

New friends and new adventures

In book 2 we see more of Mo & June’s sisterhood. They are one badass team!
We meet some new characters which allow us more insight into the diverse nature of June’s world. I love the mix of Greek, Norse, and other Gods. I love the mix in mythos. Zeus, Loki, Thor, Hades all in one place!!

Great follow up to book 1!!

Nice middle ground...

This was a fun book to listen to. The story felt rushed, especially the ending, but the narration saved it. We get to know Moe a bit more which is nice. The premise is really cool, truly. It’s the rushed feeling that kept me from giving it five stars. The addition of a new member of the team was nice and the character was fleshed out well. Overall, a solid “middle of the series” book. It left me excited for the third book!

and the fun continues!

What a fun book! This one is just as fun as the first book. or maybe even more fun! Gareth, a talking dagger steals the show. and The Morrigan, Goddess of Death on a mechanical bull. That alone should be enough to convince you to read this first 2. The characters are great. We see Junipher trying so hard to be a better person. I think she does ok. We also get to see them relax for a minute at a country bar and that was nice. The story in this one is just as good as the first book. I look forward to following this series. I would say if you like the Rachel Morgan series, you would like these.

Fun read

Great main character and the situation she finds herself in is action packed and makes for a fun read. I love the blending on several different cultures' mythologies.

Language level detracts from a good tale

Parents: lots of language, not recommended for under 18
Language: R, 50+ Fbombs
Violence: hanging, cannibalism, murder
Sexual content: sex organ terms used, prostitution

I haven’t read the first book but I don’t think it would have made much difference. The adventure is stilted but intriguing and relatively fast paced. I enjoyed the different take on all of the mythological beings. I feel like the language level really detracts from the overall story quality and makes June seem less than educated for being well over 5 centuries old. Overall this is an interesting idea and the adventure is gripping, I wish it were a bit cleaner as I would like to continue reading this series.

Narrator: poor differentiations, slight change in accents is about it.

amazing! yet another hit!

JP rice spins a tail that hooks you from the very first word from the very first chapter. the narration by Liz brand is bringing to life Juniper in a way that not many can do. A kick-ass character brought to life through words and storytelling it's a must-read for anyone who's into Supernatural paranormal and just all-around good fun.
