Publisher's summary

Being Black in America is not an easy task. Black people in America are faced with the task of surviving in a system predicated on the notion that Black people were less than human, policed and enforced by a system that is rooted in slavery and racism. All while trying to succeed in a capitalist society where we are discriminated against.

This book is about healing, progressing, and building despite our start in this country. This book discusses what it means to be Black in America.

Quick Listen Great Read !

This book touches the societal issues of today as well as in the past, in such an eloquent way. The author provided a plethora of historical information and context. The book is broken down in a format for anyone to understand. I appreciate how the book was fact based and research driven and not just another rant. I also appreciated that solutions were suggested and problems weren't just being presented. I would greatly suggest this book for everyone especially youth who lack historical knowledge of black history and its relation to government from slavery until now.
